I want to make this thread go even longer by asking the question and seeing who can answer honestly.

Who needs DJ more, Florida or Tennessee?

Tennessee, hands down. We need any studs we can get. You all have studs across the board.

That's a fair question. Florida needs to reload on the OL. But, Tennessee needs to reload on the defensive line. So for the time being, Tennessee needs to use and build on their strength and run the football. I would say it's about even.

A better question might be - What will be the better choice, Tennessee or Florida, for DJ and his future?

Man, this is a good question. You could expand that to educational value, experience, etc too........

Waco most kids care less than you think about which school needs them more.

Example, Who needs Justin Shanks more FSU or UT?
UT. Momentum, depth, talent at DL, etc...

Who did he just pledge too: FSU.

From a roster standpoint I think it's clearly UF...

From a momentum/perception standpoint...UT hands down

I couldn't agree more. Tennessee has an outstanding crop of talented and big offensive linemen. This is not a position of dire need (if he was a LB, different story entirely) at present (not that we wouldn't take that kind of talent all day every day!). But snagging a top recruit, especially vs the Gators, is all about momentum, interest and perception and would score a much needed early boost for the program. Perhaps it would also trigger other higher end players to have the Vols on their mind with a bit more serious consideration.

UT needs him more. If for no other reason, so Florida doesn't get him. If we don't land him, we have to figure out a way to get around him for 4 years. Besides, we can always make room for the top OL in a recruiting cycle.

So all the gator mods say Florida leads. That makes sense because the last they heard from DJ, they did. From what Skeeter says it sounds like he's going to be a Vol. If he's coming to UT the day after he's announcing, that's a sure sign he's going to be a Vol especially given that he canceled a trip to Florida.

I really don't get the Gators' optimism after he canceled his trip to FNL. You would think they'd read between the lines there.

how exactly do you know when the last time gator mods have spoken to DJ?

How do we know everyone isn't blowing smoke on the internet boards regarding information. Just sayin'. We'll know come 5 Aug regardless of what time he pronounces himself a VOL. (HOPING)

GO VOLS!!!!!!

he's going to put on a UT/UF hat..give his reason(s) but state he's still going to take his visits. Pretty much how Friday is going to playout.

Obviously, the fact that he cancelled his trip to FNL (24 hours after Skeeter said he would) and rebuked an offer from Mo Collins to take him there is nothing but good news for Florida. How could they possibly feel more confident after such a series of events? Also, continuing to talk to CHH after he was supposed to go silent means he is surely a Gator. Oh, and let's not forget the visit on 8/6 to come and give hugs of consolation to UT's staff after choosing UF. If it isn't obvious that he's a Gator, you must be blind.
