'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

I say it is a smoke screen. You know the old saying 'follow the money trail' or put your money where your mouth is'? Well seeing how he has been here 5 times to your 4 he has invested more time and money here than florida.:) I say he is just doing his friend a favor by visiting florida.:)
not spending much money when you crash at a family members crib :p

You'd have to be pretty clueless to think Florida isn't a big player until the end.

He supposedly told a UF mod that UF is number 1. This mod has also said that he doesn't know if it will stay that way and questions whether he will stay closer to home. Kid is an absolute stud and any program will be lucky to have him. Honestly there are so many good Oline prospects this year losing one or two wouldn't hurt a program like UT or UF. This is the year a both programs should load up and take a bunch of linemen... 5+ IMO.

Considering we literally took a whole offensive line last year I don't see us doing that this year...

This would be a good year for us to cherry pick only the very best o-line talent available, 3 or 4 tops.

As of today we could only sign 13 bodies in class 2012.With that number ,there is no way that they sign 4 OL.They need 7/8 DL and at least 3 LB's in this class which have to be priority. They also need at least another WR and TE ahead of OL.If there is attrition of existing squad to the tune of 10/12 then they might sign 4OL in 2012 otherwise I would look for 1 0r 2 at most.

I would normally agree that if you take 5 the previous year don't do it again. This year however is an anomaly and maybe not take 5 again but I would take 4. The quality is there in this class. Also with the rate of injury among Olinemen and the importance of them in the SEC, you truly can never have enough. I have similar thoughts about dlinemen as well. JMO

There will be room for a larger class. We will sign at least 20 by the time NSD rolls around.

It is somewhere between 13-16. We have 10 Srs on the roster & we are 3 shy of the 85 limit mark.

What makes you say this?

As it stands now we would have to have roughly 7-12 people leave/get kicked off to reach those numbers

There's always going to be attrition for whatever reason which should put us close to 20 and I'm sure CDD will do like Saban does and convince a few guys, who aren't going to contribute, to consider other options. No way we don't sign at least 20. JMO

I thought it was 13 seniors and 3 under the 85 limit? I could be wrong tho. That would make the number 16... I don't think janzen Jackson comes back for his senior year... So that puts it around 17 with 3 to 4 others lost to natural attrition.

I count eleven: Simms, Poole, Sykes, Malik Jackson, A. Johnson, Vereen, Anderson, Evans, Fleming, Martin, Guess. JJ would be 12.

That might be right. It doesn't separate the walk ons from the scholarship players on the list I was looking at. I also noticed utsports finally has rivera listed right. Last year he I think he was listed as a junior.

So your numbers assume at least 7 players will be lost to attrition with 9-12 being a possibility...that seems a little high considering we only lost 16 total during the 14 months of Hurricane Kiffin

heck, we have lost 5 just this spring : Askew, Oku, Raines, Meline, and Pope. that's not even counting Janzen.

that 7 number will come easy.

Any guesses who that 7 might consist of?

i'd bet on Janzen being one of them no matter what. Either he goes to the NFL or he doesn't stay in school.

outside of that, it would be the guys everyone else would name. the guys who are not all that committed, get in trouble, or are way down the depth chart.

i'd say we will lose a few guys at the end of this semester.
