They are ultra-conservative because they are not very well plugged in with the staff, IMHO. It just doesn't breed a whole lot of confidence, but if you want, you can reverse that logic and say that means obrien is a near lock... It's how you slice it

He has been pretty off this year. His word isn't worth much IMO

I've posted this before, and I'll keep posting it as long as you are posting these type comments. NO ONE is more "plugged in with the staff", nor has more INTEGRITY than Paul Fortenberry and his boss Brent Hubbs! BTW, do you write for an opposing service? :nono:

Hubbs and Fortenberry bring a lot of good information to Vol fans so there is no need to denigrate them because they are not correct 100% of the time -- no one is.
Let's just be glad that O'Brien wants to be a Vol -- he will be a good one.

- Josh Helmholdt, RivalsIn last week's Mailbag column I said that O'Brien's recruitment was looking good for Tennessee, and that expectation has only been strengthened in the last seven days.
The Volunteers look to have survived a late summer push by Michigan and we expect will end up with his commitment.
Tennessee was the early leader for O'Brien after being the first to offer prior to his junior year. They maintained that lead for the majority of the last year, and their position at the top of his list looks secure. Without disclosing his choice, O'Brien told us this week, "I pretty much have my mind made up." He has made unofficial visits to each of his top four schools, but announcing a decision ahead of official visits further suggests that not much has changed in the last few weeks.
