Danny O'Brien and Sheldon Day are two of the most important recruits this class, only possibly comparing to a top LB prospect.

It is very possible Michigan will take both of them from us.

It's also very possible that Michigan won't. We've led for O'Brien for a very long time.

I love it when people proclaim that one recruit or another is the most important for a class. Especially in June.

Until you can name me two DTs on our board of equal or better talent that we have a legitimate shot at, then yes they are incredibly important.

You're not wrong. You're correct. His last interview with TOS said he has no leaders, but UT and MSU stand out as of now. Michigan must be making a late run. They have a good enough recruiting staff to do so.

I'm not stupid enough to think we aren't going to sing a big JuCo or find another guy who hasn't hit the camps yet. But we shouldn't be settling on the Gerron Borne and Alan Carson's of the world this early with all that we have to offer.

I really don't think you are stupid nor am I trying to insult you. I'm just saying the sky is not falling and this is CDD's recruiting style. I would call it steady and thorough. It's different, I admit. I'm hoping it's right.

It's way too early in the process to claim any one recruit is everything to our class.

Just about everyone on here considers Mo Couch our most important recruit from 2011. Go look at the early pages of his thread.

Byron Moore is probably our second most important recruit from last class. Go look at the early pages of his thread.

Everyone seems to like the saying "It's only June" but if all the DTs are off the board and commited elsewhere then it might as well be Feb. It does appear that the glass half full crowd may get a wake up call shortly.

I don't know what will happen, but I knew as soon as I heard he was camping there the rumors would start spinning out of control. VQ has a thread stating that O'Brien is committing to Michigan tomorrow, FWIW. I know he said no leaders recently, but then I heard that he was most interested in learning more about UT and Bama. Also read he had been showing up for camps sporting UT gear. Who knows. I can't believe this is going to happen, IMO. Kind of reminds me of how everyone out there outside of the UT boards said that Arnett was anything but a VOL.
