there were schools still calling and bourque's dad didn't answer for them.. i wonder why. this guys dad has been all TENNESSEE..

Sir, the only issue here is that it seems that Davante's father is often misquoted or his words are taken out of context in every article. This is common in recruiting, though, and is to be expected when people are trying to forecast the choice of 17-18 year old males. People hate uncertainty.

Thank you for your updates. :hi:

the dad said we didn't visit nebraska.. When the question was asked did you guys visit nebraska. Then the question asked was so you guys have only took officials to tennessee and miami.. The response was yes.. Then he asked would you be shocked if davante' would sign with miami.. His dad responded YES i would be shocked.. So why do you think he would be shocked ????? He knows where his son is going

That's awesome! I guarantee Tennessee is glad to have him.

message boards are a very tough place for families of players and coaches to visit. I hope my question wasn't lumped in with the anti dad crowd. The dad seems like a great dad that has been a great influence on his sons life of late especially academically. My question is why doesnt there seem to be a different message coming from the two?

Lol. The poster saying differently might as well have been a troll with his summary of the article.

From TOS - Bourque's dad says that he will announce on NSD. Dad says it is down to Tennessee and Miami. He seems to like everything about UT but Miami is where his friend (Briscoe) is going and he likes how the coaches there have dealt with him.

I still think he stays with Tennessee on NSD, but according to dad, it is not over.

It would appear you don't need to apply for a job writing cliff notes. Your summary seems to be very inaccurate per Louisiana.

thanks to you.... back to work i go...

Good grief people. Ever heard of stealing someone's thunder? Maybe staying slightly vague or noncommittal so Davante' can have the fun of the big announcement? As a parent, wouldn't you want that for your kid? This parent bashing is idiotic.

People are acting butthurt because Santos' dad was a LHFL. It is making them a little crazy.

If the kid wanted theatrics and a "moment", he should have waited to announce. That's what makes certain parts of fanbases upset. You commit to 3 different schools, now it seems as if the whole Miami thing is being strung out for suspense. Devante' himself picked his school, 3 times now mind you, so don't be surprised to see fans upset that he's trying to possibly maintain a level of suspense that shouldn't be an option really.

I really hope Davante sticks, I have really been hoping that he wouls choose the Vols. I really like his potential and it appears that he will have a great opportunity to get some reps at RB the minute he steps on campus. He and Lane will make a great combo. Bourque looks like he has the ability to break any touch for long because of his speed.

Let's hope the OL gets run-blocking down this off season.

I understand that, and given that he committed it would be nice if there was no further drama - but this is not uncommon, and teenagers can react emotionally in the moment, and I'm completely with Louisiana on this - why in the world would somebody (a Vol fan, no less) want to risk encouraging him somewhere else at this juncture by bashing him or his father?

yes i'm mad because wednesday isn't here and davante loves his dad more than tennessee.. i don't want this kid to make a bad decision by listening to his miami friend and go there because of the negative talk about his dad. don't give anyone something to bait the kid before signing day.. also he's my best friend and you're talking BS....

Not saying anything bad about his Dad. I just saw your post and didn't know you were connected to Devante. My bad!

^^^THIS^^^

The variety of fans reactions is common altogether, especially a few days from NSD.

Everyone is just wanting it to get here to finalize things so we can move forward with the rebuilding process of our football program.
