* 3-star RB prospect Davante Bourque was an early LSU commitment but he backed off that decision in December and the Canes jumped in the mix with an offer. He committed to Tennessee on Sunday but met with UM coach Terry Richardson yesterday and they reaffirmed his scheduled visit for this coming weekend. Ole Miss and Illinois are still in the mix as well. The Vols definitely have the edge but getting him to visit here this weekend is a big step in the right direction for the Canes. Golden's already been in his home so we'll know a lot more about his interest in UM after this weekend. It's still a longshot for UM.

I agree. I believe that Davante' becomes a violent down hill runner under CJG. Once this kid gets stronger and makes gains in speed and agility, he could be real special.

I honestly think Bourque will stay true to his commitment to Tennessee and sign with us on NSD. He wants to play in the SEC, he'll get immediate playing time here, he's built a good relationship with Dooley, and even said himself that Tennessee felt like home to him. I think he sticks.

Remember Burton Scott at Bama? Wanted to play WR his first year. Saban gave him his chance then moved him after he didn't show much. If Bourque doesn't play well at RB we can move him to WR. I just want him dressed in Orange.
