'12 GA TE/DE Jordan Johnson

Everyone saying he is not a take have to look at what we have on the board right now.

Hamilton is a long shot at best.
Autry is our best shot and would be an immediate impact guy.
Ryan Watsons future is DT, yes DT.
Trent Taylor is right behind Autry maybe...

This kid has the measurables to be a good player and appears to be a high character guy thats fits Dooley perfectly. He would without a doubt red shirt and with another couple years of putting the work in who knows where he could be.

Kinda sad that people are hating on him clearly because he is not rated. Of all the DEs left on the board this kid would have the most upside hands down. Hell that video is of his first year playing football....

Hating? be for real man.

If Jordan is coming in as a Tight End prospect, I won't complain at all
There just arent many out there this year for us to get on, but we are in it for several upper echelon DEs. you dont give up in August and settle for project guys this early. 2010 recruiting class should have taught us that.

Lets not hamstring ourselves again by taking Andrew Powers and Judah Parkers far earlier than necessary and then have to ask them to leave bc better prospects are available late

imo if we land both of these guys or any 2 players highter on the DE board than johnson i can't see us taking a third DE with such limited spots available. unless some dream situation happens where hamilton, autry, and taylor all want to come.

He played in Germany and moved to the US to get recruited.

Well....there was a DL we had not long ago that didn't start playing football until late in his high school career, I thought Ritzmann was it though.

People are jumping on him without much actual info. Anybody seen where it says we are recruiting him as strictly a DE? How do we know this is not our TE for this class? Raw, big athlete. Good basketball player.

We have to have a TE in this class....have to...

I think it's a safe assumption that if this kid is a take it will be as a TE and it won't effect the # of DE's we take in this class

We got our TE when we got Croom. Taking this Johnson kid would be a waste of a scholarship

All 3 TEs return from this year.

Well gee since CDD OBVIOUSLY doesn't know how to recruit, why don't the "experts" on here write CDD a letter and tell him your thoughts..I'm sure he will reconsider and pull the offer immediately..C'mon folks, if CDD wants this kid, my thoughts are he is well worth getting..But of course I am no expert like the other posters here..

yes, we should all just fall in line and agree with everything the coach does no matter what.

Thanks for your insight, I'll keep that in mind.

:good!:

I always love on this forum how someone posts a thought in a thread like Croom could grow into a TE with his size and 10 pages later it is a fact for half the people on here that we are recruiting him as a TE. Just like Clear he will be given his shot where the coaches recruited him and if he shows out and dont put on to much weight he will remain a WR.

He's a tall wr and dosent have the frame to grow into a te. He can eat an elephant and stay skinny, just ask Mrs. Croom, she should know.
