I don't worry about his resilience as much as I do his mental capacity. I know it hasn't hurt us thus far, because he reads the d pretty well and has great instincts. However, his interviews definitely don't hint at a mental giant.
It makes me wonder about the situation of the programs at those schools when he went to the camps. It's also well talked about though that his throwing motion changed midway/late in his HS career and he came on to the scene a little later than most. To finish his HS career with going to the state semifinals for the 2nd time in his program's history, be a runner up for FL's Mr. Football, the #1 Pro-style QB in the State of FL and 8th in the nation tells me all those other schools missed out.
I think Scout may have it wrong though - I'm not sure he ever went to UCONN's camp yet he did hold an offer from them. I think UCONN was actually in his top 5 at one point. I also heard he went to FSU's camp a couple times and both times was seen being invited to talk with Coach Fisher afterwards. So who knows what went on there... maybe FSU was waiting on another prospect they were chasing before throwing out another offer.
Regardless, I'm convinced we've got a stud.
-VQ.Talked to the coach that coached him at the all star game in Texas and he said Peterman is the real deal. Said he went there expecting these QB's to have a clue and said of the 3 he was working with that it wasnt close. Said Nathan was able to talk x and o with him and was able to read when the offense should have been doing something else at the same time the coach was able to. I do know that one of the other kids was Matty mauk?...went to Missouri I think..anyway not going to go in to great detail about that conversation but UT most def got the better of the 2. This coach put his team in the state championship game this year in SC and knows his QB's pretty well. Just thought I would pass this along.
