AD don't have pull with the clearinghouse. He's going to need to take the online classes over to get in. Norland,Northwest and a few other schools don't even allow football players to take the online option anymore.
it has nothing to do with wanting him at UT....just passing on some info from a few people that know what's going on with Leggett. He's worth the risk if you have an extra scholly. I say roll the dice and see what happens. FSU and UM didn't have that luxury.
He's obviously worth the gamble.
I'm afraid that if he doesn't qualify and has to go to prep school he may sign with UM like he has always intended.
If that happens, we wasted a scholarship this year.
Which prediction, or both?
If we don't take him now and he goes prep or JUCO and gets his grades right, Miami will end up getting him in the end unless they get absolutely slammed by the NCAA (which is possible). He didn't seem to care about potential sanctions but I have a feeling alot of the kids that say that now may not realize how bad it could be for Miami.
It will either be UT or Marshall now or Miami later. He also committed to FSU after Miami cut him loose, but that was only because of the academic issues.
Gracias, do you think he gets cleared here? I feel like his score and grades are reasonable, but it he hasn't taken the right core classes that could be a problem.
If he can pass his spanish and math class it looks promising. It's just going to be a complete pain. There is seriously no telling with the SEC + NCAA digging into all the classes he took. Anytime online classes are involved it can get a little scary.
I really have no idea if he gets cleared but if he signs with us on NSD I would at least feel like there is a good chance of it. One thing you won't see is another Eddrick Loften situation where we're talking about him 2 years from now.
Very well said. My thoughts exactly. You take him if you are positive you can get him in now. If not, it's a wasted spot.If we don't take him now and he goes prep or JUCO and gets his grades right, Miami will end up getting him in the end unless they get absolutely slammed by the NCAA (which is possible).
