along with hanging with russell and sirmon, he was also able to meet the head man, coach derek dooley.
"i really liked him. He seems like he would be a great role model," allen added.
Allen said overall, he liked what he saw at tennessee in his one day trip.
"i don't think i was surprised by anything but i was impressed by the things tennessee had to offer," he said.
"I think I need to figure out who has the best opportunities for me and then narrow my list down to not such a vague range of schools to pick from and then narrow it down some," Allen said.
That means he's not in a rush to pick a school.
"I'm not entirely sure yet. I just know it's not going to be anytime soon," Allen said.
There is a new article on 247 about him completing his visits to other schools. Tag line said that he originally named us the leader but is now not ready to say the same thing. Someone with an account care to summarize (premium)???
"Some of the schools that are looking at me want me to play running back, so I am being recruited really for linebacker and running back," Allen said. "Right now I feel like I play running back the best, but I am open for playing any position."
With new offers still coming in and visits yet to be taken there is still plenty of time left in the Sunshine State products recruitment.
"My decision is still a long ways of I am going to wait things out and take all of my visits."
-RivalsTennessee: "I met all of the coaches, met a lot with the defensive coordinator (Justin Wilcox) and Coach (Peter) Sirmon, the linebackers coach. I also got to sit down and talk with Coach (Derek) Dooley in his office. He just told me about what he enjoys about coaching and what players get out of being a Tennessee Volunteer. I learned a lot of information at Tennessee. They want to use me as a SAM or a WILL linebacker depending on how big I got."
- ScoutIm looking for academics and a good combination of that and athletics. I also want a good set of role models and a good community atmosphere. Good fans and a place that will help prepare me for life after football and make me a good person for the future.
Allen has seen interest increase quite a bit lately, especially now that summer is in full swing.
Probably Duke, Tennessee, Kentucky. Theres a few. A lot of them have been calling lately.
Though many of those schools are in the southeast, Allen wont let geography limit his choice.
Distance isnt really a factor. My moms fine with me going anywhere.
I took a trip two weeks ago and saw about seven different schools: GT, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Kentucky, Duke, and Tennessee. I think Miami has been talking about offering too. They just want to see me in camp first."
