'12 FL ATH Marcus Allen

The multi-visit thing is totally overstated and was blown way out of proportion by someone and now everyone takes it as gospel. Ask any of the mods on VQ or Scout or 247. It's just not true, especially with a kid from Florida like Allen that has to put a lot of effort getting here just once.

Unless they are the dumbest coaching staff on this planet they would definitely accept a commitment from this kid if he wanted to be a Vol today or tomorrow.

Exactly, Dooley just thinks multiple visits is a great tool to land a top prospect like a DJ Humphries. The more you can get him on campus the better your chances are.

But would he turn his commitment down if he wanted to commit his second time on campus? HELL NO!

that was definitely Dooley.

and I believe it was a Chuck Smith call too...

persona non grata

I think the coaching staff was surprised Parker committed to them right when they offered. There weren't any intentions of landing him when the offer was extended, they just wanted to start the recruiting process.

nah, bc they could have told him to take your time, think things thru or say we arent ready to take a commitment.

they slowed things down for Avery Walls and Rory Anderson that same exact way last yr.

Tennessee should never lose out on a prospect to Arkansas. I dont care what they did last year. It's still Arkansas.

It has nothing to do with last year. There is a connection to Arkansas. I agree though, all things being equal Tennessee shouldn't lose out on a prospect.

I can understand if there is a connection I guess. I still dont think Tennessee should ever lose out on a prospect head to head with Arkansas unless maybe he's from there or something. This may just be me, but Arky is by far the worst state I've ever been to. And Fayetteville? Wow. I dont see the attraction for any kid that has a lot of options.

Never been to New Jersey, eh?

I'm kidding, to some degree. I've never been to Arkansas myself. But I have been through New Jersey a few times.

According to Daniel Larusso, New Jersey > California. So I'd say Arkansas is still worse.

Ever been to Starkville, MS????

I'm a student there. I'm not sure what your problem is with it. Beautiful campus and a growing city. If you leave Starkville, you'll likely end up in a dump, but other than that, Starkville is great.

I had a few friends that went to MSU. I visited them quite a bit, and never had a bad time.

why are we in trouble in FSU offers?

They are closer to his home, they won 4 more games than us last year, and they won a NC more recently than us. Don't get me wrong, I'd still chose the Vols, but there are clearly reasons why he may like them.
