'12 AL DT Justin Shanks

Don't see why not...UT could reimburse him and could even do so in excess of the actual cost of the scholly...this is known as the Auburn Option. UT could also reimburse him for clothes, books, car, etc...this is known as a Bama Grant.
LOL....good points. But yeah, I know those would be violations, but it would me much harder to prove the school had any involvement with it coming down like this, rather than the front end of the Scholly. If caught, the penalties would probably be much worse I'm sure.

Oh well, it was pretty much a longshot in the first place.

We are gonna have to press hard for Kirven as well...he isn't very likely either.

If it was even possible to think otherwise to begin with, keeping Jacobs has just become even more paramount.

Are we sure? Link? The staff needs to pull off a miracle amd get him on an unofficial and then get him here on an official Is this pssibe can he change his OVs

but, but oci said......
hmmm.

The staff is confident that if Shanks takes an official visit to Tennessee, he will be a Vol.

We have the best shot at Shanks and Bullard out of that group. I will say this, any kid we get on campus we have a legitimate shot at landing.

Keep an eye on this guy. He is one of the guys committed elsewhere that the staff has stayed in touch with and sold on being a part of rebuilding the program. Shanks and O'Brien will go a long way towards solidifying our interior defensive line.

I've previously stated this in another thread, but look for us to finish with a number of players previously committed elsewhere. The staff's approach is paying off with a lot of kids that made early commitments in the spring/summer. The staff is selling UT instead of bashing the schools where the kids are currently committed. This positive recruiting allows us to get our foot in the door, get kids on campus for official visits, and sell what UT has to offer (which for Shanks is early PT). UT football is back.
