emailed my aunt after I hadn't heard anything today. Things are pretty much the same which is a good sign.

"Thanks so much! He is still in ICU Trauma unit, but they are holding off from the surgery. They think the swelling is at the max now, they don’t think it will swell any bigger. The trauma doctor said they have him on Cognitive brain rest. His brain cells need to rest so they can repair themselves properly. So this means no video games, no texting, and limited TV. He will be in hospital 3 or 4 days, then resting at home for 3 or 4 weeks, then he can go back to school for half days. They don’t want him having to think or learn until his brain cells can have time to heal. The dr said if his brain doesn’t heal properly, the next time he gets a bump on the head, he may not be so lucky, the outcome may not be good. He can’t even do homework at home for a while.

I never realized that doing cognitive work with a brain injury would be harmful. No sarcasm. I guess it is like muscle cells....don't use them til they're healed.

Remember after tebows when they shut him down almost completely? If I remember no class or anything at least Initially.

Everyone got mad at mike leach for putting dude in the dark closet, theoretically there was nothing wrong with that action
