First of all we're not recruiting Crowder as a DT but I saw the same play. It's called a trap play and Hayworth pulled blind side to Crowder. Traditionally a 300 lb pulling guard is supposed to knock whomever they trap on their A--, especially with the blind side advantage. But instead the trap block ended with neither lineman going anywhere and the running back had to cut back inside because the Mack Truck didn't move an inch. Give Hayworth credit though because he did hit solid and could be a potential future Vol prospect. Crowder did not make the tackle on this particular play but did cause major congestion. Still a 3 yard gain play up the middle. Of the 60 offensive plays ran by DB, 58 of those were wide around the end, away from Crowder.
#75? haha - Crowder pancaked #75 probably 10 times (maybe more). The only time #75 "stood up" Crowder was never. Don't confuse pass blocking and pass protection for getting stood up.
Don't get your panties in a wad dude... I just posted what I saw and #75 DID stand him up a couple of times.. He played pretty well considering he was going against a big time D1 OL prospect.. For the person who said that it's common or normal for a smaller player to get underneath big guys like that.... Well maybe so but I've seen a couple of big time D1 OL prospects play in my time and generally they dominate and maul their competition...
All that said it's not my intention to bad mouth Mack. I think he will do well at UT. Some of you crack me up. You get all butt hurt when you think someone is being the least little bit negative (objective) to one of our commits..
All is well guys...
