'11 MI WR DeAnthony Arnett - UT Commit

Dooley is going to close this class strong. Would not surprise me if we get close to top 10. I always said top 15, but replacing Juda and Power with 4 star prospects more than likely may give us that extra boost. Stars don't matter to me because every guy we have committed right now doesn't have many question marks. People bashed the Christian Harris commitment, but I don't see many of them doing it now because he has dominated high-level competition.

We are in great shape to land Arnett, Couch, Clear, Richardson, and Wright. We are also in great shape to get 4 star bumps for Tom Smith and Brian Randolph. That would put us at 10 4 star commits counting Loften.

Haha. I have a feeling Baggett knows nothing about this board or Arnett's twitter page.
He may not, but Arnette might be a silent to the vols and he also may be a playing games with the trojans and in the end he shoots them down by choosing the vols. Who knows, this kid likes attention he has something up his sleeve. IMO. We'll see though. : )

I hate to be that guy...but it makes you wonder if they're doing it because the rumor was that he's a silent to us...they have no other reason to use one of their limited scholarship numbers on a position they are stacked at

Exactly USC, Bama and Florida is notorious for this! Their logic thinking is that they don't want to face these guys so lets bog down our depth chart so that they can't have them!

I would bet you're wrong. Heck Orgeron had someone checking things like this for info. If the coaches aren't monitoring it then they are missing out.

I can guarantee you the UTAD checks them

Allen Trieu, Scout's Midwest Recruiting Manager, interviewed Arnett yesterday after his visit to USC. Trieu says the Vols are the team to beat.

Bryant said he "strongly" feels that Arnett will be a Vol.

Fortenberry on VQ made a call to Arnett's family last night and everything is still looking for us. The VQ guys keep saying he is a Vol.

That's all I need to know. Thank you LV

I think he's a Vol. He wants it to be a surprise so he's messing with all the fans. He jokes about being a Spartan, Trojan, and Bronco and never mentions UT. No one will expect it

in the last 12 hours he has talked up usc, boise st., and msu... he is playing the game and i am going to go ahead and make my prediction: vol jmo GBO

There's always backcounting that confuses everyone...

The rule says you can enroll 25 scholarship players a year...USC has had their scholarship numbers reduced by 30 over 3 years (10 year)...so not including any backcounting they can sign 15

This was my understanding, too. They'll be allowed 15-15-15, but with some back-counting this year, it'll probably look more like 20-15-15.

Dude just eliminated cal, yet said his visit was an A+ and couldn't have been better. Sounds like this kid likes to tell people what they want to hear. I wouldn't count on or count out anything.

doesn't that all depend on how many signed from the last class? I didn't think you could take a number that would put the last one over 25. Of course I'm probably wrong on that

Droski, Since your a PAC conference fan and native to California, How many schlors can USC have this year?

They only signed 20 last year, so there's at least 5 countbacks for this year (assuming they have 5 EEs).

If you're right then there has to be some kind of provision to this scholarship reduction that prevents them from backcounting during the reduction...

If USC signs 15 this year then even though they're reduced by 10 the next year they can backcount 10 because they only signed 15 this year...see what I mean...

Surely the NCAA thought of this...but I'm sure if there is any loophole those snakes will find it and exploit it to the absolute max and beyond
