'11 GA S Brian Randolph

Randolph hasn't been re-evaluated yet, no one saw him in person this time around nor did we get senior film so we will hopefully do one or both between now and the last ranking
- Farrell

Hopefully, someone at Rivals can squeeze in some time to watch his senior film. He is a player and deserves to be recognized.

Here's an outstanding piece on Randolph that I haven't seen posted here before. He sounds like a terrific young man, future captain material:

If you think he hits opposing ball carriers hard, you should see Brian Randolph lay into the books. Not only did the blue-chip defensive back lead the Kell Longhorns with 136 tackles last season, but he also sports a 4.1 GPA that few student-athletes can match. “I don’t know which comes more naturally, but he does have incredible work ethic and takes great pride,” says Kell head coach Derek Cook.
Academic Athlete Aug. 2010 - Brian Randolph

Randolph's numbers through 11 games:

* 112 rushes for 807 yards and 15 TDs
* 15 receptions for 387 yards and 5 TDs
* 6 KO returns for 172 yards and 1 TD
* 135 tackles (80 solo) with 3 TFLs
* 4 interceptions

Really looking forward to watching Brian Randolph play in Neyland Stadium. That'll be great on great.

They need to hire more people to evaluate prospects. How could they not evaluate Randolph, isn't that their job?

to be fair, they lost alot of talent evaluators, scouts and writers to 24/7 ...

obviously its a transition yr for them now that an upstart company has come in and swiped away much of their staff

agreed I4Jay...most people don't realize that rivals has been decimated in terms of personnel since being acquired by yahoo. i have a good friend who used to scout/write for rivals who recently left for 247 along with several others. imo rivals will become much less relevant over the next few years and i'm sure insiders/coaches (not that they really care) already know this. another reason to pay less attention to the stars...especially this year.

film is the primary tool they use to evaluate players. you would be surprised at how often they (not just rivals but all services) have diffiuclty in getting film from high schools, players, coaches, etc. etc. Even the measureables come from most anyone that will talk with them, including girl friends...

AND, it is not a huge staff at any of these services to do the evaluations.

Why fans should take with a grain of salt. I've been to Rivals headquarters many times so I am familiar with how they operate.
