'11 GA S Brian Randolph

If the team is firmed up with safeties, Randolf might make a truly great corner.

If this guy made 25 tackles in one freakin' game then he oughta be closer to the line. I hope we have other players for CB.

I only know one other player to EVER get 25 tackles in one game.........

Bobby Bouchette'

Randolph definitely has the speed to be a corner, but I think it would be hard making him a corner when he has the potential to be one of the great safeties in the country.

Safeties have more tackling opportunities than corners. Still, it would be nice to have someone physical up front that can bring someone down.

He might work some at CB but his future is at S.

Next year:

CB - Gordon, Teague, Coleman
CB - Evans, Oliver, Thomas

FS - Jackson, Randolph, Loften
SS - Waggner, Brewer, Martin

We will have depth in the secondary it will just be very very young depth behind our starters.

Shaping up to be a stud secondary

I was'nt trying to say that would be the starters, I was just trying to point out that we would have some depth for next year finally.

I think Randolph, Loften, & Brewer will all be battling Waggner for the other starting spot at S.

Wow, I just noticed that Rivals has Randolph ranked as the 47th best player in the state of Georgia!!! :eek:lol::no:

I don't see Lofton backing anyone up besides JJ

Agreed - I think they find a way to get both of them on the field. Loften at safety, Jackson at either safety or corner, depending on who among the other DBs steps up to claim a starting job.

Not saying it'll happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if our starting secondary looks like this by next September:

CB Jackson
CB Teague
SS Loften
FS Brewer

Rivals seems terrible this year. Are they hiring someone for FL & going to step up their game anytime soon, or would it be fair to say that recruiting rankings are dicey at best & meaningless/invalid at worst this year?

I agree.

Brewer is impressing me.

Jackson has to play safety. Not sure what people see in Brewer, he missed the assignment on Richardsons TD run...

CB- Evans/Teague
CB- Gordon/Waggner
FS- Jackson/Martin
SS- Loften/Randolph

First significant action and he blows an assignment. The jury is still out on Brewer. Jj misses atleast one assignment a game. Im worried more a out Brewers speed than his coachability

Haha. He misses an assignment as a freshman who has not played organized football in over 4 years. Hold the phones! Why is this kid even on the team! Cut him! Please, he has the physical ability and a mature attitude about how to work hard. He has every physical tool that Loften has and has a one year head start on him. He will be a very good safety before he leaves school.

Brewer is a beast physically. He'll be fine.

This. I think Brewer impressed in his first real action, IMO. Kid has the potential, and he IS a beast physically.

All the greats make mistakes. So, if you are blaming him for missing an assignment against one of the best teams in the nation in his first game in approximately 4 years, you have WAY too high of standards to watch UT at this day in age.

I would go further than that. I would say he has zero ability to use reason or logic.

Disgraceful. The kid is a top five player in the state easily. Rivals is the National Enquirer of recruiting this year.

To everyone complaining about him missing an assignment.. How many has Eric Berry missed this season in his first year in a new organization? He gave up 2 open touchdowns in the first game.

Guess he sucks too.

Sorry but I see Brewer turning into a very good player. He will compliment Jackson well if he plays like he can. Brewer is a hitter and very good already in run support. Not all that good in coverage yet but hes not played football in how many years?

Our safetys will be very solid next year and beyond.

Berry blew some assignments as a freshman as well if I remember correctly. Starting freshman in the secondary is a dangerous proposition regardless of how talented they are.

This is true, and you can see what reality does on this site. It kills the b*tching. haha
