You do relize this board represents only a small portion of our fanbase...and only a handful of posters on here think that star ratings are the end-all, be-all of a players worth...right?

Truth. I personally don't care about stars except for a way to notice recruits. Obviously if someone has 4-5* and I've never heard of them, I'm going to look at them.

But...for some reason we think that if we get enough stars, that we're going to get a number one class. And if we get a number one class then we're going to win a National Championship. Which, it certainly does help your case to have a number 1 class, but it doesn't mean everything.

Brian Randolph is a fantastic kid with a good character, and apparently very intelligent. Building a team with guys like this is fine with me. Even if he doesn't have 4 stars (though he totally should).

Haha probably true. Is Randolph a 4* player? No doubt. But at the end of the day were just a site on the internet. If you're taking our rankings that seriously then you have some problems. You know how many prospects there is every year. There is no way we can rank them all correctly. Plus at the end of the day its just our option. Your opinion carries just as much weight as ours.

Don't sell yourself short...your ratings are generally pretty good...IMO, better than any other service....and when you rate a player highly not only is he most often a very good player but a commitment from him can build momentum that leads to other highly rated recruits commiting...

In short, Rivals has more credibility and influence than you're letting on here

If you don't believe him....take all of our four stars and make them 2*, and come back here five minutes later. We'll have at least 20 posters saying we don't want them anymore. :loco:

Randolph and Coleman will likely be very familiar names when it is all said and done. Historically the Vols are successful when loaded with speed from Georgia.

I'm telling you, Jan 14th weekend is going to be a HUGE HUGE recruiting weekend. We could have ALOT of visitors.

Yes it will be a big one the 14th. That is the weekend that College Gameday will be here, so they will get to see us on a national stage. With it being a home game, I remember how everytime the coaches/ recruits come out the studend section goes crazy. Last year chanting DaRicks and Nash's name was really good. The student section needs to keep that up!

Hopefully we can have a few more recruits from Florida visiting after Meyer's most recent shenanigans.
