AM ETTennessee Volunteers Top Email Though the announcement won't be made until May 4, Tennessee may already have its first recruit for the 2011 class. And it's one that is close to new coach Derek Dooley's heart.
Georgia OT Alan Posey says his top two schools are Clemson and Tennessee (hometown Georgia hasn't offered yet, but Posey says he wants to leave Athens), and he most likely will commit on the anniversary of his grandfather's death -- even if it costs him potential future offers.
Posey visited UT for junior day last month and is scheduled to be in Knoxville again on Tuesday for practice. Plus, the Vols have an insider's advantage. "Coach Dooley and coach Smith (Chuck Smith, the DE coach) are from Clarke Central so it would be pretty good to get three Gladiators up there," Posey said. "They told me they're building a championship foundation. They told me they'd love for me to be a part of it. I'd like to be a part of it."
Posey is also impressed that OL coach Harry Hiestand tutored Orlando Pace during this past season. "I like Coach Hiestand a lot," Posey said. "He likes big nasty, physical linemen. As soon as I got there on junior day, he was the first person to come up and talk to me. As soon as we started talking, we hit it off."
