He may, Johnson said, but there isnt much of chance hell change his mind.
Its right, he said. Its a school Ive been wanting to go to. I wanted to commit while I was there this weekend but everybody told me to hold off. So today I just went ahead and did it.
Here's A.J.'s early Top 6 from a CaneSport.com article....
I don't like he didn't list Tennessee, but I believe we are still a big factor, regardless of what the article says.
clemson, five others, hard after former vols pledge a.j. Johnson
outside linebacker a.j. Johnson (gainesville, ga.), who decommitted from tennessee following the coaching change, revealed six programs who are showing him the most attention, espn affiliate web site noleinsider.com reports.
"right now i would have to say that clemson, uf (florida), alabama, usc, georgia tech, and tennessee are recruiting me the hardest," he said. "that is also my top group of schools at this time, in no particular order. Clemson is the school that is recruiting me the hardest of all of them."
He is still pretty high on our boards. The LB position is one that we will probably take the most at this year for 2011. Every other position we will only take 1 or 2 or none at some. This will be the smallest class under Saban this coming year. It will be between 18-20. In the end I think if AJ Johnson wants to come to UA there will be a spot for him.
He won't be going to Bama.
"To tell you the truth, if Alabama comes at me hard like they said they would last summer after camp, I will head down there real quick. I have my teammate there, and we will just keep it going and work hard together and push each other," said Johnson. "Blake [Blake Sims - 2010 commit] and I are real cool. He has only been at Gainesville a few years and we are like brothers. I am at his house all of the time and he is at mine. We are both captains on the basketball and football teams. We have been through a lot together and it would be real cool to keep it going."
