Skeeter said that because the coaches thought Wright and Dawson were in the bag (thanks to their lying up to the last minute) given the numbers, that they didn't have room for Mackey. So in essence thanks to these punks or the scumbags directing them. They cost us a recruit. So much for this "They are just having fun and not hurting anybody" bullcrap. Like I said in a earlier post in this thread, I cant wait to see this pos get his arse flattened when we play them in a couple of years.

Mackey was a S&P guy right? So technically we haven't lost him completely. We can still re-recruit him next year if the coaches decide to.

All the more reason IMO...if you have a guy who wants to be a Vol, and he is a take...you take him. DO NOT wait for kids in hope they don't screw you over. Mackey would look pretty good right about now IMO. Especially if his grades are in order.

No Mackey had already been in Juco he would have been in this class but grades and class work were a concern in him getting in.

No he signed yesterday with TAMU I think. From what skeeter said I think you can surmise he was next on our DL list. I don't think anybody knows for sure if he is going to qualify, but IIRC if he doesn't get in this time he isn't getting in, my understanding is a John Brown type situation as far as his remaining eligibility. I also wonder if Wright and Dawsons crapping on UT had anything to do with Mickey Johnson abruptly committing to LSU last week. He may be a s&p but he would be an excellent one to have our hooks in. Oh well if he is S&P we will be able to recruit him again anyway, so I guess it relly doesn't matter.

Hindsight is 20/20 bud. Wright was Iffy, and Mackey was Iffy, but for different reasons. If you take a LOI from Mackey, and you don't find out till summer he isn't qualifying, you just wasted one of your signing period 28 on a guy who was only going to give you 2 years at the most. Wright was Iffy because he is a lying pos, But all you can do is take a man at his word till you find out.

This is why IMO a staff should have a hard rule about dealing with deuchebags like Wright..

Here's the deal son, enjoy your recruitment, take advantage of free trips but deal in good faith or we wont deal with you at all... We'll jerk your offer and cease contact with you..

One recruit will not make or break any program...

Call it what you want. To me, telling the staff on Tuesday night he's a Vol + signing with USC on Wednesday morning = playing the staff.

Now maybe he wasn't intentionally trying to screw them, but if he really just wasn't sure until Wednesday morning, he should've simply said that he was still trying to decide. JMO

Gabe Wright was going to Auburn, period. He lied and played anyone that was told otherwise. Everytime he was asked by Rivals he said Auburn was the leader. People with orange shades thought he was just talking stuff.

BTW, Jmoore basically guaranteed Gabe Wright to UT.... and all he does is read Rivals and listen to Brent Hubbs. Soooo.....

Oh well, I would've rather had Johnson or Jernigan anyway. Couch will be a monster for us though.

Hubbs at the Memphis dinner tonight said that Gabe gave his commitment to the staff on the last in-home. Said he was committed to them the night before signing day(or the morning of), told Tiny that he would be a Vol about two hours before his announcement, then goes on the air and picks Auburn. That's low.

Wrong Big Shot, next time you call someone out, make sure it's somebody who deserves it. Jmoore actually has a source in the front office, think thats right, but his source was right on DeAnthony and another recruit, can't remember who tho. Anyway lay off Jmoore

I heard this as well. It's sad. Me, personally, I never believed Gabe was a Vol. I was always skeptical, simply because of his attitude and other various reasons. All I can say is, karma's a b!tch. It's just wrong to lie.
