I hope so. The problem is what if auburn does run the table and win the national championship. Will Gabe get caught up in all the championship hype and commit to auburn

From a kid that picked the UT-UAB game over Auburn-South Carolina and the UT-Bama game over Auburn-LSU, I would say no.

If our 2 deep looks like this next year, I will be a happy man.

DT-Hughes/Walls
DT-Couch/Wright

If our 3 deep looks like this next year, I will be an even happier man.

DT- Hughes/Walls/Jeffery
DT- Couch/Wright/Johnson or Sylvester Williams

Then I think and then think, wow I can even go further at DT.

DT- Hughes/Walls/Jeffery/Carson
DT- Couch/Wright/Johnson or Williams/Saulsberry


Who would've thought that we could have SEC calibur depth at DT next year?

I know you and I have discussed this previously but Columbus, and Carver specifically, is not the Auburn pipeline people perceive it to be. At least not recently.

Also heres another thing to look at, Crowell was rumored to be coming with Gabe Wright to the UT game but instead Crowell goes to the AU/LSU game. Hmm.... Why would Wright who was rumored to bring Crowell to UT not want to go to AU with his own teammate & friend to a top 10 battle between AU/LSU? :question:

I said it Saturday and I say it again, he has come to UT twice on his own dime, like j moore said he lives 30 mintes from Auburn and they played another top 10 team in what was a great game, instead he comes to knoxville again on his own dime for at the time was a 2-4 UT tea and was a heavy underdog to bama. If I were the #7 DT in the country and I had a choice between AU/LSU and UT/Bama, I would have chosen AU/LSU with my teamate and friend Crowell........unless wait I have already made a decision and UT is where I want to play football at. ALL VOL Book IT!!!!

I am loving reading the news on Wright's family liking the VOLS. I hope he is Donning the Orange and White next season.

Is Walls really not good enough to start or is Couch really that good?

If Hughes doesn't work harder then he could be the guy who drops back. IMO, Walls will be an outstanding DT. He could have made a huge difference this year.

I think he keeps dropping these little hints for us. He blew of two important games to come see us. Not saying that he will absolutely be a Vol on National Signing Day, I'm just saying that I have a hard time believing that Auburn is his leader. Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious. :good!:

He'll need a solid backup. With his size I feel like he'll need to be spelled fairly regularly.

I've heard his brother is taking a job in upstate South Carolina, and that his mother will be moving there also. That'd make trips to Tennessee games a little easier than trips to Auburn for Wright's family.

Kid loves the spotlight too much

Gabe Wright almost committed to Clemson in April at the Spring Game. He'll be back in January for an official visit.

"If my official visit goes right don't be surprised if I commit there," Wright told Tigerillustrated.com Tuesday night. "I almost did it once."

I don't know what to think about this kid. Personally, I don't believe we are in as good of shape as some, but then again we could very well be. The way he talks really lends me to believe that he could be anyone's to lose. I feel like he gives every school a little glimpse of hope.

It's an Auburn/Tennessee battle & it will be all the way to NSD. He's NOT going to Clemson or LSU or Nebraska or anyone else. It's either Auburn or Tennessee & IMO it's going to be Tennessee, his mom wants him here, his brother wants him here, his coach wants him here, & he has a great relationship with Coach Smith.
