I think the recruiting of the lines this year will be critical for DD's tenure here. Some good depth along the lines will have us ready in a couple of years to compete.
I think Wright will end up at Alabama, but not before Tennessee makes it hard for him. We won't know one way or another till NSD.
As for Auburn....they wish they can land a talent like Wright.
Freakin' Carver HS. Pretty sure they just moved down to AA ball from AAA, where of course they think they're the top dog. Gotta get by Buford U first though. Like I say about every Carver player, they have the athletes, they don't have the coaching.
Coach Mcgee has gotten them to the state finals and into the semi twice. Think he's turned that program around since they were the worst team in that city besides Jordan High. Not many staffs have former SEC and NFL players as coaches. They have a new OC that came down from Grady or MLk(Atl) so I think they could win it all this yr.Freakin' Carver HS. U may have them mistaken for Shaw because Carver was trash before Mcgeee took over....they really haven't won since Jasper Sanks was running over teams during the 90's. I would say that they out matched the team in the finals but they played some very good teams in AAA along the way. Gabe had a great yr last yr but he was almost unblockable during the playoffs.Lol dude they won the state title b/c they out-athleted everyone. It certainly wasn't because of coaching. Same thing that Gainesville tried this year with Blake Sims/Tai'lor Jones/AJ Johnson but they fell short to good coaching. And Buford actually does have good coaching AND good athletes. Turned that program around, I don't think so. Same overly arrogant punks they always were.
BTW Did you watch that championship game? They were down big until the last like 2 minutes, and the ending consisted of their stud qb throwing hail mary's to their stud WR over and over. Nobody on the other team could stop it.

Agreed but most of it has to do with Coach Flowers leaving Shaw for an admin job with the school system because most of these players would have found their way over to North Columbus if he was still coaching.....I didn't know they dropped down to AA so that only leave Northside and Shaw with AAA playoff talent.I'm not mistaken. I'm talking about Carver, Col. The year they won the title they were head and shoulders athletically above the second best team in AAA. They might have been trash before Mcgee got there, but they consistently make mental mistakes and lose to teams they shouldn't, and that falls on the coaches. And like I said, the only time they won the title was when their team was so athletically overpowering that any coaching mistakes could be hidden behind talent. We'll see what happens this year in AA ball. All roads lead through Buford if you want the title.
And if I'm not mistaken, Carver is a magnet school that brings in kids from all over. Seems like they weren't always, like before Mcgee got there....
Either that or they merged two high schools. Regardless, Mcgee is not the reason they won the title. That was my whole point. They just had better athletes.
