11 FL OL Marcus Jackson (UT commit)

We'd run it if we could block for our RBs
That's where Marcus comes in

I agree. Last night should help us with him. Dooley wants to run a lot more than we ran in this game, but cannot because our line is not very good at the moment.

I think Momma will be the deciding factor here, and Marcus will be a Vol.

I think we lost marcus tonight. not because of how we played or because of the L but because he loves to run block and we passed 90% of the time tonight. And Golden is known for running the ball. I really dont like our chances anymore.
If you want to play at the next level (NFL), you had better be a good pass blocker. College football s full of great run blockers, but it is short on good pass blockers. The bottom line, if you can't pass block in college, your football career will be over after college.

Thats why he isnt going to G-tech and you guys are right he would help run blocking alot but if we get marcus and antonio who starts next year?

Be tough to beat out the starting 5 we have but plenty of playing time to go around. Jackson and Richardson will add major depth to give breathers to the guys playing which will allow us to rely more on the run game. I do see Jackson pushing Schofield and Richardson pushing Thomas for their starting spots though

I'm quite sure I'll get flamed for saying this but last night wasn't all the OL's fault.. We need serious help at RB.. I've said this before, Poole is a great kid but not a 'great' RB. He is serviceable at best... He would make a good backup to a true #1 guy but unfortunately he's all we have... It is what it is as they say... IMO Neal shows flashes of being the better back.. I really hope he (Neal) makes BIG strides this off season and we get a good one on NSD...

edit: I'm more worried about getting a good running back (Hill preferably) than another OL and Marcus is one of my favorite recruits..

Both backs do not seem to have an instict on which cut to make or which angle to take when pushing it to the outside and it cost them big gains or TD's alot.

we have 1 senoir on the OL the left guard. i forgot his name.

"I am going to make my decision by Monday," Jackson said. "I will make the decision Sunday night and then let all the coaches know where I am heading. I have pretty much made the decision in my own head, so I am going to tell the coaches Monday and announce on Wednesday at the game."

I'm hearing different things here, I've been confident he would be a Vol but the past 2 things have went back & forth.
