11 FL OL Marcus Jackson (UT commit)

He was all but locked up to the Vols prior to Golden's arrival as Randy Shannon's replacement in Miami. It seems to be very much a Tennessee-Miami battle that will be settled in just a few days at the Under Armour game in Orlando. Miami is close, but the Vols have done excellent work with Jackson's mother, who really likes the non-football offerings and support UT offers.
- John Brice

Also, Hubbs said Jackson has been in contact with the Tennessee coaches the past couple days.

If he can not return Brent Hubb's call then we might have to cut him.

well we know if he returned a call soon enough, I am sure we have a few posters with a VQ MEMBERSHIP that will tell us. If not then trust me I am ok with the guards we have and I would take Turene over Jackson if we had one scholly left. Lets not be crazy with that depth chart, u can think Walls and Martin are coming back but where is Martin's knee and does Walls have the drive to push at 270?

What do Martin or Walls have to do with Turene or Jackson? All totally different positions.

I'm so confused by your posts. What does Walls and Martin have to do with Jackson or Turene? None of them play the same positions.

Also, you are flat out wrong at guard, Tennessee has absolutely no quality depth whatsoever at that position now that Stone has moved to Center.

Can Crowder start at center next year or 2012? That would allow Stone to move back to guard.

Posey, Kerbyson, & Richardson (assuming he comes) are all tackles, correct?

I think Kerb will be a OG. People have said Posey will be a OG but I think he will be a RT eventually.

I think Tiny is an LT & Posey will get a shot at RT first. I don't buy that Kerbyson has the frame for tackle, but we'll see.

Jackson is extremely important for the line depth...

OT: Thomas, James, Pair, Richardson, Posey, Hood
OG: Schofield, Fulton, Kerbyson, Jackson
OC: Stone, Crowder, Gooch

I have no idea if Crowder will be good enough to start by 2012. Next year I would say not likely at all.

As for the other 3 I have no idea where they will end up. I'd say Richardson is likely a tackle all the way. The other two could end up tackles or guards, either way you have to think there will be an adjustment period for both, especially if they are moved to guard.

Hood should move to the blocking te, Riviera tha pass te. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens in the spring.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them experiment with something like this, whether it be Hood or another player, especially if they lose out on Clear. They absolutely need more help at TE. They need a big physical run blocker that can help immediately.

Rivera did a nice job in the passing game down the stretch this season, but at this point he is not a good run blocker at all.

0% chance Crowder starts as a true freshman. You never start true freshman OL unless a) you have no choice or b) he's an all-world stud like Andre Smith. Neither is the case with Crowder.

I think we lost marcus tonight. not because of how we played or because of the L but because he loves to run block and we passed 90% of the time tonight. And Golden is known for running the ball. I really dont like our chances anymore.

If that was the case he would be going to GT.
