11 FL OL Marcus Jackson (UT commit)

I'm pretty sure Dooley told him to kick things around for a while before he goes public. He decommits from Miami right after visiting UT with his mother. The kid has already figured out where he wants to go I would imagine or he wouldn't have decommited already.

Andrew_Gribble Got a call back from Marcus Jackson (3-star, OL). He confirmed that he de-committed from Miami. "Everyone is on even ground now," he said.

You can see our program start to take shape.... instead of throwing true freshmen in on the offensive line, we will be able to take talented linemen (like the ones from this class) and let them develop their footwork, technique, and strength during a redshirt year.

This is how you build the depth we so desperately need. Things are looking up.

I don't foresee much redshirting for this class. We needed more depth last year and this year. Hopefully, several of the new players will contribute on the field in 2011.

Agreed. Especially on the OL. We will need these guys to contribute some if not start, adding much needed depth.

What is so amazing to me is how quickly we (Tennessee) amassed such a talented group of linemen. I am certainly no expert but the last few years and especially last year we has some problems on the O-Line. Be it injuries, transfers or whatever we just couldn't seem to get a solid rotation of guys out there. Now suddenly in the last year or so we have brought in guys such as J. James, J. Stone, Z. Fulton who are very talented and got tons of quality starts and PT against SEC competition as true freshmen (not sure of M.Pair's future here). Now nothing is set in stone, but we are in great position to land A. Richardson, M. Jackson, already have Kerbyson, and could get C.Clear to move to Tackle. That is a pretty young, talented yet somewhat experienced group that if they stay together (way more likely now that we have Dooley at coach) than I feel like we are pretty set. Now before I get blasted I know that haven't proved anything yet as a group, but I think the potential is definitely there for them to be one of if not the best SEC OLines the next 2 to 3years.

Now the trick is can we turn that miracle to the D-Line group especially DTackle. I think our O-line recruiting and developing goes to show that DTackle isn't a lost cause. It can definitely be turned around very quickly by evidence of our OL situation. All I think it will take is a few sure fire recruits to buy into Dooley and our early PT pitch. I really don't know how Gabe Wright hasn't already committed, because he would obviously play here way before he would see the field at AU. Sorry everybody for the extra long post but it's late and I had nothing else to do...Here is to hoping our DLine fortunes can turn like our OLIne fortunes evidently are. :loco:

I'm sure this has been posted but I don't have time to search....is Jackson an EE?
