11 FL OL Marcus Jackson (UT commit)

I know I'm all vol and I'm biased, but why would a young highly sought after lineman (OFFENSE AND DEFENSE) not wanna come here. The opportunities (early playing time in SEC), NFL position coach, academics, Neyland stadium, and the new sports complex is gonna be flat out S-W-E-E-T! If I was a lineman I would be jumping at the chance to be a vol right now.

M Jack is gonna be a great help to us, we need to build up that OL depth. In two years if a starting OL goes down we might be able to find a capable replacement, Awesome.

Justin Hopkins:

Marcus Jackson recently publicly stepped away from his Miami commitment. He followed it up with a visit to Tennessee. It's "heavily" reported he didn't leave without making a silent pledge to the Vol staff. Whether he did or did not, public confirmation will happen during the Under Armour All-American game.

Certainly the Vols are the team to beat here.

Steve Wiltfong:

I got the same information yesterday. Sounds like he's a Vol.

I never get tired of read stuff like that.

Big pick up for us. Will really secure our 2 deep at guard next season. Good job Dooley!

I have been curious if any of our projected startiing OL for 2011 will be surpased by incoming Freshman.

If Jackson comes in early does it look like this:
LT James
LG Jackson
C Stone
RG Fulton
RT Schofield

Don't forget about Mack Crowder.

Don't sell Dallas Thomas short. Wasn't he only a redshirt sophomore this year? He has room to make big strides as well. Anyway, I don't care who starts. I just like the fact that we seem to finally be building some solid depth in the trenches.

No. It is very unlikely barring injury. However they will play alot.

Thomas will most likely start at LT.

I agree that he starts, but I think they put James at LT and Thomas at RT. Juwuan is much more athletically gifted and with a year of experience should be mentally prepared for the work.
