Because there are too many folks here who still think a good QB HAS TO, by default, be slow as frozen molasses to be successful. :crazy:Grayson has a 4.0 and 30 on ACT. He is more accurate then Bray so why is he not worthy of your QB standing?

Funny, more and more college players are BOTH athletic enough to make plays with their feet when NEEDED, and highly accurate passers. Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, Pat White, etc. It's funny how folks discount how Tee Martin's athletic abilities HELPED push us over the hump, that Peyton was never able to...with largely the same squad. The first NC in decades, and we've learned nothing from it.
Peyton was a great college QB too, but if he happened to also be as agile as Tee Martin...we would've dominated the Gators during his 4yr college career.
The point again is...why settle for one or the other? Why not both...when they are more abundantly available nowadays
No...it is not.False.
No...it is not.
I bet if you asked Peyton himself, he'd tell you the same.
A mobile QB adds another dimension that defenses have to account for. If you added that extra dimension to Peyton's game, he'd be an even greater threat to opponents in the NFL, as hard as that may be to believe. The implication is not that one can't be a quality player at QB with a pair of Water Ski's on...but when you have a prospect who is equally good with his arm, and feet, why settle for less?
Imagine Tebow or Colt McCoy with lead shoes?
Yes, it is false.
If Peyton had world-class speed, it wouldn't have kept our defense from being God-awful against the Gators in those 4 games.
Let's recap:
In '94, we lost 31-0. I don't think I need to elaborate much on this one. It was the last time we've been shut out by anybody.
In '95, Florida scored 48 unanswered points en route to a 62-37 beatdown. That's right, 48 UNANSWERED POINTS.
In '96, the Gators won 35-29. Sounds like a close game, right? Wrong. The Gators took a 35-0 lead in the 2nd quarter and were on cruise control the entire 2nd half.
In '97, defense and RB Fred Taylor carried Florida to a 33-20 win in the Swamp.
FWIW, Peyton has been timed at 4.7 in the 40.
And we turn around and beat the same Gators with a QB who was a good, not great, passer AND had the wheels of a WR/RB, with largely the same team. That added dimension nearly got us another SECC in 99. Same dimension that made Tony Robinson a hell of a QB for us in 85Yes, it is false.

Where's the link to this suposed 4.7 40 of Peyton's?
Let's face it...the Gators were dominant in the 90's under Spurrier, and to beat them, it took having not only good talent all the way around, but a QB that could hurt them running it. That was the difference in my mind, then and still is. We had trouble beating them with Heath Shuler and Peyton...two of our best QB's all time.Danny Weurffel wasn't there when Tee played them either. So technically, you're wrong.

Then you're lost. Our D was pathetic while Manning was on the hill. The championship team was dramatically improved and would have won that title with any one of about 10 of its QBs.Let's face it...the Gators were dominant in the 90's under Spurrier, and to beat them, it took having not only good talent all the way around, but a QB that could hurt them running it. Grayson is nowhere near as accurate as bray. THe only pass that grayson throws well is like a fade. everthing else is either underthrown or not on target. They also throw alot of easy routes. alot of underneath stuff.
Says who? You? Please, do provide a link to this information....specifically stating Bray was more accurate in head to head competition than GraysonGrayson is nowhere near as accurate as bray. I'll take Grayson and Rettig over the Aircraft Carrier Bray any day of the week. What potential does an Iron statue have in the SEC?
Give me Paul Jones or Rettig + Grayson
What do you see in Rettig besides a good arm? You gotta get over the Aircraft Carrier thing. He plays Basketball and Baseball. Give me Paul Jones and Bray and i'll be happy.
