As bad as I hate to say it...that is a decent point. Newton coming in gives this team something either way...even if he were to be a bust as a starting QB. He gives you a real red zone threat...much like Auburn does with Cody Burns, and LSU did with Perillou (before he was dismissed) in the SECC game in 07.lol...wut
Bringing in Simms, it's an all or nothing prospect. If he's a bust at QB, he's not going to be able to help your team anywhere else on the field.
It's a gamble either way, but IMHO Cam Newton gives this team a way to hedge their bet...and that could be a hell of a combo, Bray running the offense and using Newton on key 3rd down plays and redzone situations.
