Never said he was. The point remains - If you're good enough, teams will wait on you....if you're not, they won't.
You didn't read my post, did you?

Just because there are a few teams left (the recruit will make it sound like he's eliminating schools from his list AT HIS DESCRETION...when in fact, it is often the schools who rescind their offer because other QB prospects accepted the scholly offer they were hoping he would take) doesn't mean top level teams are willing to wait indefinitely.

In Pryor's case, he just so happened to have a few good options left...but if he were smart and wanted to keep his options as open as possible, he would have made his decision about a year earlier than he did.

Are you saying that a school wouldn't take a top name QB just because they already have one committed? Since when has having 2 elite QB's committed in your class been a problem?

I sort of stopped paying attention to your posts after you accused Heaps of stringing Tennessee along by not yet committing with 9 months to go before signing day.

Exactly. Even if the Vols have Marve and Newton/Hendrix, they'll take Heaps if he's someone they think is good enough to start at UT....whether Heaps decides he wants to be a Vol in June or in February.

How many top QBs have committed for this class? Bama has a commit... there's still a freakin' ton that haven't. He isn't stringing any teams out.
Sims and Sims and Bell...they're dropping (off the board) like flies. There will still be some "decent" prospects left in June-Aug, but the premier guys are just about gone

Each staff determines how many prospects they can afford to take. We have stated that we are looking for 2 this class. Once Scroggins or someone else commits, that's going to be it.
I don't see this team or hardly any team taking 3 QB's in one class...no way to keep them happy. Once you hit 2 in a class, you've reached a point of diminishing returns

3 QBs = dropping like flys...?

1 includes a laughable Sims - and Bell is just Bell... he's not going to be do anything for 2-3 years.

Afford to take? No, friend. I must respectfully disagree. If we have 5 QB's that want to come here, if they can all play, we will take them.

The reason you don't see it that often is because it is nearly impossible to get that many prospects in one class. The prospect himself decides that's too much competition.

pot calling the kettle black.
You stated that any team is willing to wait as long as it takes to get top talent. That is just not the case. SOME TEAMS WILL....some won't and don't.

Teams have to send out multiple offers to cast a wide net...sometimes you have room to wait for that Big Fish...and sometimes it fills up quickly with smaller ones, so to speak

If you are talking about a Texas or a USC situation where they already have 3 or 4 guys on the roster that can play, then yeah, they may just take one QB because of needs at other positions. (Mitch Mustain was a 5 star and he's 3rd on USC's depth chart) But that isn't relative to our situation at all. As it stands, QB is a position of great need for us. We will have one scholarship QB to start the 2010 season, we aren't going to turn down a single prospect that fits the system and can play at this level that wants to come here.

Thank you for making my point...about diminishing returns. A coach says "We'd like to get a QB in this class...or We'd like to get 2."
In Kiffin's interview yesterday, I believe he said two. They don't just throw a number out there. They know that's how many they want and how many they can feasibly expect.

If Scroggins or Hendrix commits, that's going to be it (counting Marve as a commit)...just wait and see

At least two. That's always been the goal. If we can get 3 QB's in this class that this staff thinks can play, then we will sign them all up. It's not as if Kiffin is somehow going to limit his QB offers to just two.

Holy cow...I was just adding a few to what you already mentioned...didn't say I gave you an exhaustive list did I?

Nope and I only listed mentioned the Bama QB... You said they're 'dropping like flies'. I don't agree at all. The Bama commit was the only one we were seriously after as far as I know.

IMO, the Marve and Newton chase is due to the fact they don't believe there is an answer for 2010 on campus or in high school ranks.. I think that is driving who they are going after. If they think Heaps or Scroggins or Bell can be answer in 2012 and is willing to comne sit for 2 years, they will keep pushing for them.

I'm not sure they think they are the answer in 2012 either. They might like 2011 prospects better than 2010 prospects...

I agree. I think who the are currently going after is very telling.

The only two we had a shot at were Sims and Bell.
That's not the issue.
He was poking fun at my comment that the TOP QB's were PROVERBALLY....as in FIGURATIVELY...dropping like flies.
He asked me who..and off the top of my head I named a few...he took another jab and there you go...straight from Rivals...fair enough?

How much do you want to wager those top 5 will not be close to the same come the end of next years class? Even with those 4 - they're not "dropping like flies" yet.
Dude...just drop it already. You asked me to name some and I gave you the list from Rivals itself. You're the one who got on my jock for giving my opinion. I don't need yours or anyone else's permission to do so.
I didn't say there were no good QB's left, just making the point that the TOP-TIER guys are largely committed already. I gave you proof and we can sit here and debate all day whether it's enough, but I'm not going to. If you want to just keep an argument going for the entertainment of it, go ahead...but I'm done with it.
