'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

Prater will re-visit his final 4 schools and decide... USC isn't out of it at all, but I think one of Illinois, Tennessee, and Oklahoma will be his most likely destination unless he really likes who USC hires and decides to enroll there this summer.

opinion or fact? link?

I have a friend that knows somebody that knows somebody that robbed somebody that said Prater was going to enroll at Pellissippi to play intramural ball instead. Tough break.

I would be VERY surprised if he his at USC by the end of this week. Coaches gone and impending NCAA death penalty doesn't look good for the Trojans...

I still feel like we are in the drivers seat on this one.... I mean his Dad isn't going to tell everyone the whole story. I am sure they basically have a pretty good ideal what they are going to do. If he shows up for a visit this week I feel like it is over. But if he comes the 22nd we could still land him. He wants to be a EE. Just give it time.....

I think he will be a Vol in the end....

at most they'll end up with scholarship reduction for lack of institutional control, maybe a one yr post season ban

So death penalty not likely, got it. But a question of curiosity, if a program were to get the death penalty, would its athletes be allowed to transfer, and given the circumstances, be allowed immediate eligibility? Just wondering how it works.

They won't give them (or anyone for that matter) the death penalty. Pretty much killed SMU back in the day.

I dunno man. It's looking pretty bad. The whole coaching staff knows something big is coming and they're getting out of town. Carroll wouldn't leave for the Seahawks of all teams if there wasn't something going on. He's had NFL offers before and always turned them down. He never even considered them...

And USC offered to to punish themselves with self imposed sanctions, but the NCAA denied it and said they will hand out there own punishment. Not sounding good at all imo...

Im not hating on kiffin but this worries me. his lack of respect for the ncaa rules he got from learning at USC and look where it has landed them. Im afraid kiffin is going to do the same thing and then bolt and leave us screwed...

There are so many rules players have to follow coaches should be held responsible as well. not just the program because the only people that suffer are the fans...

Kiffin is different. He's talking trash about coaches on tv and getting secondary violations for fog machines. USCs problems are very different with Bush, McKnight, and OJ Mayo...

The rules you have to break to get the type of sanctions USC is facing go way beyond using smoke machines or saying a recruits name on the radio.
