I don't think Prater ever said he decommitted, but an OU recruit said he's completely backed off of that commitment and thinks he's coming to OU with Darius White

I knew he had a thing for OU early on, but it seemed like he just dropped them a ton after us and USC got into it.

But if they get him and White....dang.

If that trio ends up at OU PLEASE just don't let them redshirt one year. We play @ Oklahoma in 2014. That would be a scary group of 5th year seniors.

Odds are they wouldn't be around that long if they produce as they should... the NFL will be calling.

I was just watching The Lemming Report on CBS C (Channel 152 direct TV) and Lemming stated Prater decommitted from USC. An interview with him Prater said, "IL and OK were schools he was looking at."

No mention of Tennessee

Prater is on Tom Lemming Show on CSS right now. He said he's opened it back up and ILL and OU are the other schools. Won't be coming to UT for a visit.

Kyle Prater the ESPNU #43 overall WR has pulled back from his verbal comittment from USC. He said in an interview with Tom Lemming that he wants to explore his options, and the is focusing on 3 schools USC, Oklahoma, and Illinois. He said he is planning on visiting all 3.

Prater was being recruited very hard by Tennessee and he listed UT in his top 3 or 4 before giving a verbal to USC. He is 6'6" 195 lbs. He is also gonna gradute in Dec. and enroll in school in Jan. We have alot of work to do to catch back up to Illinois and USC, but the fact that he has reopened his recruiting may give us a chance. I know we have already landed a bunch of WR but Kiffin was really high on this guy because of his size. Kiffin has openly wanted a tall WR for the red zone. This would be a great grab I think he could contribute immediatly especially in the red zone. You also knew that kiffin wouldn't quit recruiting even with a verbal, but maybe kiffin will smell evem more blood in the water with this decomittment. We have alot of work to do in a short time though since he is graduating in Dec.

as far as WR height - and this thread i'm sure's getting moved or merged - didnt we just get three wideouts who are like 6'2, 6'3, and 6'6?

Not that I wouldn't turn him down but We really got no place for him right now...We got our WR's for the year.

We would still take him if he wanted to come. But it's a moot point since it looks like he no longer has interest in UT.

UT will not quit recruiting him. It isn't over. Especially if Cooper vists us. If you all haven't learned that the so called "recruiting experts" sometimes have no clue what will happen. Who would have thought we were going to land Miller and Willis. Prater is the top reciever on our board from what I have heard from people that post on Volquest that I trust. If that tells you anything it tells you we will go all out for him. It isn't done yet.

Really never thought he would open it back up, and UT would not be an option.
