They would still be in BCS bowls regularly...just give it up bro there's nothing more you can do. You're trying to down play a great team. PAC10 or SEC, they would still take it to their opponents every game.

Too many people are forgetting that USC's last game against an SEC team was a 50-14 beatdown of eventual SEC West champion Arkansas on the road in '06...

I played down FSU for years for the same reasons..they were a very good team that played in a weak conference. If they had to endure an SEC schedule, you can literally erase some of those NC's and BCS bowl games.
Most years, it only takes one loss to be on the outside looking in (as we were in 2001). Now that the ACC has gotten more competitive and UF keeps knocking their block off, their program slowly degraded.
The same would be the case if USC had to play in the SEC or Big 12...they just flat out would not have the same level of success, and therefore not the same level of talent wanting to go there.

Didn't even read the rest of your post after you compared FSU to USC. wow.

You missed my point. Success breeds success. If you have to play in the SEC, it's MUCH, MUCH tougher to maintain a successful program cause it's a virtual meat grinder.

If USC had to play 3-5 teams a year that was talent-wise their equals they would NOT have the level of success they have had. This is the reason they were kept out of the NC game last year. Strength of schedule. Yet, some of you are still going to argue against reality. The fat TV contract is plenty enough factual evidence to support my case. USC's lock out of the NC game, due to a weaker S.O.S, is icing on the cake.

The Pac10 isn't weak. It is between them and Big12 right now for the 2nd best conference. USC almost always schedules a high profile BCS team plus their annual game with ND.

Last year their OOC was UVA, ND, and tOSU. The year before that it was Idaho, Nebraska, and ND. Before that Ark, Nebraska, and ND. Before that Hawaii, Ark, and ND.

I'm not a USC fan by any stretch but they aren't backing into anything. UGA and UF routinely play NO ONE out of conference... their OOC scheduling equals things out at a minimum.

Florida is the only team in the SEC that I could see competing with USC and have an actual shot at beating them. Maybe LSU.

Thank you for solidifying my point. All those teams have been powerhouses the past few years, right?

Right now there aren't 3-5 teams in the country with equal talent much less in the SEC.
Again...if USC had to play LSU, Geogia, Florida, Bama and Auburn EVERY year they don't sustain the same level of success they have in the PAC-10...period. AND BECAUSE OF THAT, they aren't going to sustain the same amount of talent. This is exactly where FSU was before USC came onto the national scene.
They had success cause they were the only real top 10 team in their conference. You make them play 3-4 top 10 teams every year and the number of wins go down dramatically.

There's not a single team in the SEC that plays LSU, Georgia, Florida, Bama, and Auburn EVERY year.

The point is if they had to play in the sec, it would be much tougher for them to be consistent year in and year out. Yes, they have great talent but the sec conference games beat you up. Look at Florida losing to Ole Miss last year, not that Ole Miss is a slouch but they arent close to Florida. USC has top 5 talent, but nobody challenges them in the Pac 10, so they are the school on the west coast. If the Pac 10 was as solid as the SEC, USC would not be as dominant even with the same talent.

We generally have LSU or Auburn on our schedule...so that's 4 really tough games to try and get through, and when you throw the SECC in, that makes 5 teams that are close to your equal or better that you have to survive through. USC has nothing even remotely close to that level of competition, and that's why they got locked out of the NC game last year, even though they had a really good team.

You guys can keep arguing for USC all you want, but again the facts are laid out in black and white...and green ($$$...Nationwide TV contract)

2006
1. USC
2. Florida
4. Georgia
7. LSU
11. Alabama
12. Ohio State

2007
1. Florida
2. USC
4. LSU
9. Georgia
10. Alabama
15. Ohio State

2008
1. Alabama
3. Florida
4. Ohio State
7. Georgia
8. USC
11. LSU

2009
1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Ohio State.
4. USC
6. Georgia
11. Florida

I'd say those 6 have been pretty close over the past four classes. I agree there aren't many schools like USC but I believe there are 3-5. SEC really is that good... 6 or 7 SEC teams have been pulling in top 10-12 classes just about every year lately. The SEC has won the last three National Championships. The SEC has won 5 of the 11 BCS championships. USC is an amazing program but I do think they'd lose 2 games just about every year in the SEC like Georgia. They sometimes lose two in the Pac 10 it's to teams like UCLA, Oregon St. and Stanford. I'd like to see them play six or so of these teams every year: Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Alabama and Auburn. They could pull off undefeated or one loss and a championship bid bud they are also more likely to drop three games in a season. Maybe even four. Tennessee goes from crap to SEC championship back to crap. LSU goes from championship to 5 losses.

They may be more talented... maybe. But Urban Meyer is a better coach. Pete Carrol loses games that Meyer would never lose. Not only losing to Stanford but a true freshman at quarterback. As great as Vince Young is, letting one player beat a team full of pro's. Vince Young made fools out of USC. Florida's National Championship defense were both absolutely filthy. Then you had Tebow and Harvin. I don't know of Pete Carrol could have coached USC to a win over Meyer and Florida with either one of those rosters.

They got locked out because of their strength of schedule in each case...so how are you going to support that point?

If we are taking about this upcoming season... last season Georgia could have taken out USC. I don't know who would have won but I know that Georgia would have had a shot. I think Ole Miss last year could have pulled the upset also. LSU could have beatin USC when USC claimed they were co-champions. I believe Auburn could have beatin USC when they went 13-0. I believe Alabama in the next year or so could easily compete with USC. Alabama has had back to back #1 classes.
