If Alabama loses to Utah in the Sugar, there is no way they can come close to USC.

And yet it was still superior to USC's PAC-10 schedule. Argue against it all you want, but the people that matter locked USC out in each case. Maybe they will let you make the call this year. :birgits_giggle:
Maybe they'd like a self proclaimed martyr such as yourself. However, they might have a problem with you rarely making sense.

I hope you're not seriously trying to argue that Utah is better than USC based on two games. Especially when one of them happened two years ago and involved neither team.

Which game was two years ago? Oregon State beat USC this past season for the second time in three years. I don't know if that was what you're referring to. Sorry if it wasn't.

I just watched the Boise State game a couple days ago. What an awesome game.

Also, let's get Prater.

If he went a little further, he would basically be saying that Utah would beat USC because USC lost to Oregon State and Boise State beat Oklahoma (two years ago).

Let's not forget that they were without the best player on the team, not to mention the 6th overall pick in the nfl draft....who was projected to be the hands down number one pick before bailing on the combine.

Having Andre Smith wouldn't have stopped them from giving up 31 points.

Any updates on prater. Who cares about who coulda beat who and blah blah blah. If its not about prater then take it to the football forum not the recruiting one

If we are taking about this upcoming season... last season Georgia could have taken out USC. I don't know who would have won but I know that Georgia would have had a shot. I think Ole Miss last year could have pulled the upset also. LSU could have beatin USC when USC claimed they were co-champions. I believe Auburn could have beatin USC when they went 13-0. I believe Alabama in the next year or so could easily compete with USC. Alabama has had back to back #1 classes.

No. No. No. No.

USCs team last year was better than Oklahoma and could have beaten UF. Best team in the country IMHO

I agree on both accounts. And I will guarantee you that UF is glad they played the Sooners and not the Trojans...

Better offensive line=More rushing=More TOP=Less time for the other offense=less points

One guy doesn't make an offensive line great, no matter how talented he is. If you put Andre Smith on our OL last year, our offense still would have sucked. And Bama still would have lost to Utah.

Prater is not visiting for the UCLA game. He will be here for the Ohio game. He says USC is his leader and his final 4 are USC, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Illinois...

One guy can make a good line great.

So in that case, they lose the LT, the most important man on the OL. So to fix this, they slide their normal LG over to LT. Well guess what? He went down with an injury.

So to fix that, they move their RT to LT, and a freshman was also put in his place at RT. A sophomore without much experience was starting at LG as well. Only 2 players (C and RG) were at their normal positions

Its also no coincidence that in the other game Andre missed they gave up the most sacks they had all year outside of the Utah game.

Yeah its not as much losing one guy and having your backup LT fill in like a video game. They moved the whole line around and started a freshman. It made a great line, bad. Good points bburger, took the words out of my mouth.

I'm with you all as well, unless we snag Corey Cooper.

Cobbs/Milton/Ambles is still a helluva pull.

I think Corey Cooper ends up on defense, personally. I think we should concentrate most of our efforts on Cobbs. You're right, to get those 3 would be awesome.

That's ridiculous to flat out say those teams couldn't beat USC. USC lost to Oregon State(4 losses) and only beat Arizona(5 losses) 17-10. To say Georgia(3 losses) and Ole Miss(4 losses) couldn't compete with or beat USC makes no sense. You then go on to say National Champion teams couldn't beat USC. That definitely doesn't sense. Florida and LSU were paired up against the best team in the country according to polls. I am not saying USC wouldn't beat them but you flat out said USC would beat LSU and Florida. I don't even know what to say to that.

As for thinking Florida should be happy they played Oklahoma instead of USC... I don't think Florida would care which they played. In fact, Florida probably would have crapped all over USC. Oklahoma set the single season record for points scored and Florida held them to 14. Unless USC were to force turnovers and return them for touchdowns, Florida might shut USC out had they played.

Lastly in 2004....

Auburn's closest games were LSU(1pt), VT(3pts), Bama(8pts), and Tennessee(10pts).

USC's closest games were Standford(3pts), UCLA(5pts), Cal(6pts), Oregon St.(8pts) and VT(11pts).

I don't know why you believe Auburn couldn't have beat USC. Stanford almost did. USC beat VT by more but that doesn't dictate the outcome of a USC-Auburn game. Auburn would have just as good of shot as USC had they played imo.
