'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

That is awesome ya'll do that. It would be nice if we had a thread dedicated to pictures of the rock painted for the players that visit. Keep up the great work.

Seriously... this may be the best rock painting squad in the history of Vols football.

I doubt he will be committing on this trip. An early interview said he wanted to commit before his senior year started but the most recent one said sometime in the middle of his senior year which would be after his official visits to both us and USC. The good thing is we are after USC so we can make the last impression.

Not sure how to do links really but heres URL to GVX article talking about his officials.

I heard he was a double secret soft silent UT lean, but don't ask for my source because that's even more secret than the information I just provided you with.

Atleast you didn't see it in a vision, then we would know he was USC bound.

Not to downplay his visit or anything, but he has stated that he will take 4 to 5 official visits this fall. Also some of those visits are to schools he hasn't been to yet. Yes he probably is excited from the visit but most are. After every recruiting weekend at Auburn this summer they are getting the top prospects, but than the kid gets home and things change. I am not saying he will not be a Vol, but remember those interviews by each schools sites are very slanted. The ask specific questions to get guaranteed answers they need to write the article and get readers interested. Again I am sure he is impressed with UT, but saying their offense is so fluid and that this staff gets players into the NFL I find hard to believe when they haven't coached a game at all for UT. Also remember if he does take all his visits like he has stated there will be 2 to 3 more after his visit to UT. I think the season will play a big role for UT and this kid.

Prater and Cobbs are neither going to Bama. They don't want to be gumps. Just quit trying.........

Poor UT fan read all my posts before you post please. I have already stated in another thread that I do not see Prater at UA, but he will be visiting from an interview with him. But again I don't see him in Crimson.

The interviews are slanted no doubt, I am not saying we are gaunreteed or anything but I do think we have a good shot considering all the talk about his dad and to a lesser extent his friendship with other commited players. Has he stated any other official visits I am unaware of? or can you find an interview where he said he wanted to take all of them? I haven't seen either so I am just trying to find a basis to what your saying that I don't have access to.

As of right now I think he only has two officials scheduled for the fall. If he does add others I would guess maybe OU and ILL, but that's just a guess. I think we have a good chance to land him; hopefully we put on a show in the UCLA game

And we all know how much Daddy has an effect on things, dont we young Jesse?

Jesse's dad was selfish. He may end up costing his sons a good career and money for the family if he gets buried on the bench at USC and never see's the field. Cassel was a one time thing. Oh well back to Prater. If we get him along with Milton, and Ambles we will have QB recruits contacting us...mark it down.

"Highly-coveted pass-catcher Kyle Prater (Hillside, Ill./Proviso West) informed ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com that he has made another cut amongst his list of suitors.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pound target is now only considering Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, Illinois, Tennessee and USC. Auburn, Missouri, Michigan and Miami-FL were eliminated from his list of 10.

Additionally, Prater plans on taking all five allotted official visits before announcing his decision.
Last fall, he caught 60 passes for 948 yards (15.8 average) and nine touchdowns.

As of July 24th, 2009. Understand he is making other visits this summer still.

Scout has a story up this morning about Prater, I don't subscribe to it, but the header says that UT has made Prater's final four. Somebody be a buddy and break it down for the rest of us.

Thanks for digging up the info, hadn't seen that as of yet. Like was stated before Illinois and OU will probably take up two slots. Doesn't really change my opinion about chances. I am still pretty sure it is between us and USC (Again) and we have a couple things that slide it in our favor. But you never know who they are going to verbal and even then don't know until signing day these days.

The funny thing with Prater is he had it down to four schools on July 8th then to six on th 24th. Both time we made the list but yet he has never been to campus and according to ur staff avoided their attempts to get him interested than all of a sudden he called them per his interview. So who knows what he is thinking.

the visit went well for the Vols.

They are planning on being back for an official. At this point, the biggest worry or thing to watch is the 'SC visit.

Prediction: his Top 3 are SC, TN, OU

“Yeah probably USC,” Prater admitted. “USC, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Illinois is my top four right now, it could change some. Notre Dame is right in there also. Tennessee definitely helped it’s case with my visit yesterday.”
