'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

The last post is a Vol fan who used the wrong form of the word "knew". They're going to tear him apart.

Matt Milton put the pic up of the rock from today with the check marks and under he's got the caption

Wide Receiver University!

so idk if Prater committed or if he's just saying that because it was on their too

they prob won't ever notice unless one of their trolls from this board point it out to them bc you caught it. they are bammers after all. Alabama english teacher: "if it SOUNDS like the right word, don't bother with grammar. "

Matt you've "heard" about this staff being confident about other prospects before also and it didn't really end well...

His mistake was indeed noticed. Even though he's obviously a Vol, he was most likely given a pass because he was a polite guest. If he had been rude he probably would have gotten called out for it. Most folks on that board let that stuff slide most of the time.

Just trying to look at this objectively, I think Illinois, USC and Oklahoma all probably have a better shot at landing Prater than do Bama or UT. Bama is pretty loaded at WR and he's likely to have at least some concerns about UT's QB and OL recruiting, new coaching, etc., which probably doesn't bode real well for UT. Heck, as the #1-ranked WR recruit, Prater could probably go to just about any school in the country that he wants. Illinois is the home school. USC and OU have excellent young QB talent, throw the ball a lot, and the depth charts aren't really daunting for him at USC and OU. I just don't see what kind of edge Bama or UT would have in beating out all three of those schools for Prater. Prater has already visited Illinois and Oklahoma. He has said he'll also visit USC and Bama before the season and plans to take some official visits during the fall. So his recruiting will probably go on for at least quite a few more weeks, if not months. I think he'll end up at one of the other three, rather than at Bama or UT. JMHO.

The recruiting process is starting to wear the family down. This trip to Tenn is the last one they are taking till the fall. I'd expect them to make a decision before school starts this fall.
They are looking for a school that is going to run a pro style offense and one that is going to give him the exposure that will help him move on to the next level.
I've explained to the Dad that Tenn is impressive and that they have the facilities, staff, Coaching and fans to back it up. As far as your chances..... I'd say that if they saw what I saw and evaluate the opportunity with the intent of what's good for Kyle then chances are good. I'd stay positive on this one. I'd also say Milton commitment is good. They both graduate this December and will both be in school in January.

This was a post on VQ by Zach Fulton's dad when he was asked when he thinks Prater will make a decision and what UTs chances were. This has gotten my hopes up a little bit...

I know this was from yesturday, just bumping post up for those who don't have time to read back through. Thought it was interesting and hopefull.
