'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

What are the odds of landing this kid? The odds should go up significantly if Tennessee lands Scroggins. Would be nice to have a 6'5 wide receiver. Don't recall any tall wide receivers at Tennessee in recent years.

quinton hancock has a chance to be a special wr with aiR but we need prater for sure

I heard that James Green showed up on campus 3 or 4 inches taller. Any truth to that?

I thought there were not going to be any academic causalities in this class.......

Him not being here yet doesnt mean he is a casuality. and yes, there are rumors out there that he is 6'4'' now.

No prob. I will ask some of my friends on the team when he shows up how tall he really is. I will tell you that some of they players have shown up taller then they were listed.

"I don't have any one or two schools that are way out in front or anything," Prater said of the Vols chances and others. "I'm really looking at those schools in my top-ten as being mostly equal. I like different things about all of them, getting it down to five is going to be tough."

"I know that Zach loves it there, seeing him do that makes me take a hard look at them, but I was already doing that anyway," Prater said.

From VQ... He will be graduating in December and enrolling in college in January. He had some things come up so he couldn't visit, but is still planning on visiting UT later this month...

Gaurd the rock once it's painted. It could actually really help us that he couldn't make it. If Scroggins is commited to us by the time he makes his trip to Knoxville that would help a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good thing for us is that we (and Prater) should know who we're getting at QB in this year's class by the time he gets here, whether it ends up being Scroggins or somebody else like Rees or Rettig.

"I ran into some car problems," Johnny Prater said. "One of the warning lights came on, and I didn't want to take the chance of going down there and maybe having something bad happen. We contacted the coaches and told them we would have to reschedule. We ARE going to get down there."

"We want to schedule a date either before his season starts or on a weekend during the season," Johnny Prater said. "That way he could see the stadium on game day."

"Oh, he really likes it," Johnny Prater said. "One of the reasons we put them in his top 10 is the history of the program. We're impressed by the way Peyton Manning comes back to support the school and the way the fans support the program. There was a great turnout for the spring game, and fan support means a lot."

Per Scout... This was an interview with Prater's father. It sounds as if the Prater's are already looking into taking an official visit to Knoxville. Johnny Prater also attended the same high school as Eric Berry's dad. Probably don't mean much, but he brought it up...
