'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

Actually they showed him putting on a USC hat with two other guys, one apparently is Dillion Baxter, actually in a pre-recorded tape. I found it funny they showed it because it had to be shot before the Carroll to Seattle story broke out.

gotcha.:good!: forgot about that one.

Prater is just so much slower than rogers though, it is obvious when u watch their highlights. What do u all think makes Prater that much better?

What makes Prater "better", is that he is committed to USC. Ambles is smoother out of the break, almost all of the top flight receivers are faster, his big this is just the ability to win the jump ball, which he did so well today........not quite. Rodgers is a much better athlete than Prater but just hasn't gotten the publicity. For that matter, Milton is a better athlete with very similar body style.

Man if we keep pulling these receivers our passing game is going to be sick.

If we pull Prater or Rodgers you have to wonder how that will affect our previously committed receivers...

Who do u guys think we have a better shot at Prater or Rogers?

AS OF NOW, if rogers visits as expected it looks like he could switch his commitment. so we stand better with rogers. however, prater is a kid the staff made top priority early and they will not take this situation lightly. both guys will get the full court press. and with the prater situation, NOT saying it will happen, but i wouldnt be surprised if CLK hopped on the next flight into Illinois.

If I were CLK I would tell all current wr commits and recruits not to decommit or have there decision affected at all by this. I would preach to them the ability to all be on the same team together. Tll them they could all be a part of the greatest wr class ever to happen. All will get the chance to start since our current wrs are crap. If any of them decides not to come its because they are afraid of competition, which they shouldnt be since each of them should believe they are the number 1 wr in the country.

Imagine this:

Prater
Rogers
Ambles
Thompson

I believe Milton will grow into his frame and become a tight end.
I believe Meline will become a defensive back.
If we bring in the top four or three out of them, B sims wont come to UT imo.

They didn't play well in the Auburn game, but other than that i thought they had a pretty good year. Pulling Prater and Rogers is a looooooooong shot, one i could see but not both.

The question is who will be the odd man out?

our wrs play sufficable but werent big play often enough and were not clutch often enough. CLK doesnt have to show these recruits the good plays. He could show them stuff like d moores drop against vt and say "see, we need you and you will become an instant star."

prater might be a long shot but as far as im concerned, as of now we are in the top 5 for him.

with rogers, seldom do they start to show interest like this, take the visit and everything and then stick with the original committment. i expect him to be a part of our class, especially now that nance "has an offer"

Yeah the thing with Rodgers is I hope we don't have to waste a scholarship on Nance just to get Rodgers in orange.

Georgia fans on the AJC are thinking Da'Rick is just going on his recruiting visit just to see how Kiffin recruits and then report it back to CMR.:birgits_giggle:

If we get prater or rogers then....
Teague
Ambles
Moore
Jones
Milton
Rogers
Rogers
Rogers( if he gets a 6th year)
Prater
This reminds me of the 2008 texas tech recieving core.

If they get all of these guys, then I see Teague being moved to DB.

That's one awesome receiving core. I'd love for UT to be fortunate enough with that situation. Maybe in a couple years :ermm:

Prater is a Long shot

From govols.com

USC's loss won't likely benefit the Vols, who recruited Prater and were thought to be in good shape before he committed to the Trojans.

"No, not at all," Prater said when asked if the Vols were close to USC before he declared.

We werent even close when his recruitment was going on.
