'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

I know that we are in the ear of elite recruits and I think that's great. Pete stole Jesse from us and he might take Prater. That's all I'm saying.

Scroggins wasn't ever "ours" IMO. The offer he wanted most was USC the whole time, and it was over as soon as he got it.

I agree. He knew what he wanted and we all should have known where he was going when he earned the scholarship from USC I know I was guilty of hanging on to false to hope.

I understand why Scroggins went to SC, its the same reason 99.9% of the posters on this board would go to Tennessee to play QB if offered. He has been a SC fan his whole life (as has Prater), he grew up 20 miles from campus and it has always been a dream of his. This had ZERO to do with playing time but more to do with a kids dreams. Also have any of you ever been to SC? Man have they got some fine women. + look at Sanchez and Leinart, those dudes were dating celevrities before they ever walked off campus. Matt Barkely will probably end up being a regular at Hef's before his sophmore year is out and Scroggins will end up at the VMA's with Rhianna about a month after he hits campus. USC is the only thing LA has in the fall and those players are celebrities, if you've never been you should.

whys that?

a.) I've always wanted to do it
b.) The Scroggins debate has already spent all of its 401k and has been sent here to tango with granny:

but i still dont see why a top QB would wanna go to a college just to ride the bench.
As others have said, he grew up a USC fan. But what's more is that maybe, just maybe, he thinks he is good enough to beat out other QB's for the starting job within a year. Who knows, maybe he will? Who knows what injuries could happen?

I have to ask this honestly, and I swear to God I'm not trying to make fun of you, but are you like 13 or something?

Honestly, I would go to another school if Tennessee's depth chart was the same as USC's. This is despite being a life long Tennessee fan. I probably wouldn't go to another school in the SEC but I would be willing to go to another school if it meant playing for 2-4 years instead of 0-2 years. I could still be a Tennessee fan. You see a lot of kids in the midwest who are fans of a teams in the Big 10 and don't really like Ohio State but go to Ohio State anyways. If it's the best school offering and you feel it's your best shot at going pro... why not? Worst case scenario, you end up a fan of two different teams.

I don't think the Woods commitment to USC will hinder his decision one way or the other. If he goes to USC, it's because his hearts set on it. I would like to know how hard the staff is on him. I know CEO is recruiting him, I just hope we can pull it off in September.

You never know what a player is thinking, while one might think of not going to USC b/c of woods commitment or their depth another one might not give two flips. All we can hope is that Ed Orgeron works his magic, or whatever it is, and gets this kid on the hill.

he could be thinking about being part of what is shaping up to possibley be the best WR core in the nation to, richardson, z rodgers, ambles, milton, possibley cobbs, and maybe. i think james green ends up leaving.

delivin jones stays at WR/TE hybrid type (im a proponent of having 2 hybrid types and 2 traditonal TE's) , throw in pratter, and with our backfield we will be able to out gun UF, UA, the USC that dosent suck. if we get 2 more WR's this season i could see janzen jackson moving from CB to berry spot and teague into the CB slot of jacksons. ofcourse if we dont get him, ive ben hearing prentis waggner had ben working some with the WR's i dont know if he sill is or not but i think prentiss will end up being an AA at what ever spot he plays before its said and done.
