'10 GA OLB Michael Taylor

Considering how bad we need LBs in this class and how much of a player this guy obviously is, not to mention the potential, I don't see any justification for not wanting him as much as anyone else. He was one of our first commits, and after missing out on some other LBs thus far, we need to keep this guy.

I hope this dosent upset the apple cart but..... I think he (Taylor) played the best game he will ever play last week. He is very undersized and we have already gotten a couple of players imo that are better athletes that will probably end up at LB. Ja. Smith is one and the 6'2 235 lb Copeland may be another, he runs 4.65. This staff recruits athletic ability more than specific position. That is an opinion and with some of the position changes on the 2009 team, it seems logical...
Whatever school he ends up at his current size doesn't matter a whole lot in the long run. that's what collegiate strength and conditioning coaches are for. to me it looks like he has the frame to play above 225 and probably won't lose a lot of speed.

Big Orange Bo, I have to disagree with you... I think Taylor could be one of the best players in this class. The kid has produced all year against some of the best competition in Ga. He went to the UA game and basically done the same thing in the limited time he got on the field.

He is going to be a hell of a linebacker for us....

well it looks like I am vastly outnumbered, I hope we get the young man too and I will try to listen and get some more info on him.

Did not realize how many of you thought he was the top or close to the top in this class. I simply did not think he was, so I will look into it further. Later GBO

From a recruiting standpoint it is important to keep him because it would be a battle won vs. UF. A small battle, but a battle nonetheless, and any UF fan would feel the same for a recruit we went after and failed to reel in. Also, despite the claims on here, he IS a playmaker and he WILL be an impact player on the field. You argue about size and speed but I don't hear you crying about Nick Reviez' size and speed, or lack thereof. Some guys are playmakers, and you take them based on that alone. You are wrong.

Taylor is legit. The dude can ball. It's hilarious how many people look at his ranking and just assume he can't play. Watch his film. It will silence all doubters.

Taylor is turning into the biggest need in this class behind Palardy.:good!:

I am not so concerned about competing with UF. I want Taylor because he is the best OLB in the South and maybe the Nation. We need him because he is that good.

The more I read and see about this the less I like it. At first he didnt seem like he would be one to waiver but Florida is hot right now and they have the best class possible ever to sell and turning that down would be damn hard to do.

Michael Taylor, Atlanta Westlake (Tennessee) — He was last weekend’s surprise recruit, which means Florida must be very interested in him. He’s not rated as one of the best linebacker recruits by most Web sites, but he won co-MVP honors at the Under Armour game and is a very athletic linebacker. I like Florida’s chances here.

Dude's a major gator homer though.

Will Taylor be to Florida, what Nu'keese was to Tennessee on NSD?

There is no doubt that he is a very important piece of the puzzle here. He will probably see the field early if he sticks with us. Just have to shore up the DT spot and the front 7 is on its way to being great.

Why the heck would he want to go to Florida? They only want him now that he had a great UA game. This is so crazy. We wanted him when he didn't have as big a buzz. Also to the posters that don't think he's that good what are you looking at? He's fast and furious.

I agree Lockdown.. We were the first major school to offer..

Maybe he's just enjoying the ride and will remain with Tennessee.. We do have Monte Kiffin.. Has to be a plus for us..

That's a big reason I think it's in our favor to hang onto him.

I said after the AA game that Taylor would enjoy some of the attention and the spotlight that results and he certainly is. I think he will realize this weekend that he's made the right decision.
