Is the recruiting pitch any different once we get a new coach?

1. Playing at Neyland Stadium
2. Playing early
3. Plus Im sure we will run a similar offense and still have a credible O-line coach

Once the dust settles I still feel like we are going to have a lot to offer

We need someone capable of offering it though. Super star kids are like models, they look good, so you have to look good or be a "bad boy" in order to attract them. UT has not looked good for a while and we have never been bad boys. All of which makes this hire critical to our future. We can never fall out of the top 7 classes on NSD if we are to keep up with the big boys(Saban, Meyer). I have grown weary of all this player development talk also. All kids learn the rules and strategies of the game. Then you play the game. The bigger, smarter, better athletes win, normally. The big boys would not recruit so hard if natural ability was not paramount. Can anyone name a coach who developed his way to a National Title? Anyone?

That is one of the most rediculous comments I've seen in a while. Bringing in good athletes is important only because it gives you a headstart on the development side; but if you don't know how to coach them up, they will never amount to much on the field. The ability to develope talent is paramont to recruiting. High caliber recruits want to play under position coaches that have shown the ability to make players better.

And no coach has won a champioship without a combination of good recruiting, good player developement, and good on field coaching.

Green is visiting UF this weekend. I still think UT leads because I believe he really wants immediate playing time. Also we are still in the Henderson sweepstakes but that's more of a crapshoot. We would definitely take his commitment if he wants in but I also heard that UF might also project him as a guard as well.

He was all but committed to us and now he is looking at options. Still think we land him because his parents want him here. Am I the only one that thinks that recruits are way too much about the coach? The guy left, I can understand curiosity and doubt, but decommitting so fast is ridiculous.

If his parents are involved in this process, you may see that visit to USC next week cancelled after this fiasco. Get im Dooley.

The departure of David Reaves and Cregg hurts us alot with Chaz.... both were a major part of his recruitment.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to USC.
