'10 FL OT Chaz Green

I have been following the recruitment of Green and James fairly closely, but how do some of you "Recruiting Guru's" think the James committment affects our chances of landing Green? Especially with Cullen still high on our board.

I'll hang up and listen....
Good OL and DL like to play with other good OL and DL.

That is an opinion I have not heard much. Why do you not see Cullen ending up at UT?

I'm wondering this too. The only threat to us seems to be Utah and he wants to be in a Pro Style system. They run the spread option at Utah. Seems like he might as well be a lock.

I really dont think we get Cullen now. We have Green who we are in the drivers seat for and I think we will push for Coleman hard. JUCO OL are more gutsey to take then a QB IMO....too much adjustment needed.

I still think UT lands Green and Cullen. If Tenn knows for a fact that they can steal Coleman, then we may leave Cullen out west but these guys alond with James(UT commit) are visiting Ole Miss this week together to watch the Vols IMO. So they are all developing a friendship IMO.

Cullen keeps saying UT is his leader by far right now. If we don't get him, we will be getting another OL anyways like Robinson, Stone, or Coleman...

Chances with Coleman are very good if part of the Auburn staff leaves after this season (as some are speculating). We have to get a visit first. Also, it depends on our #s crunch and how many decommits we have. Not sure we lose any of our previous 3 OL commits (Jose, Pair and def not Fulton). If he is wanted badly enough than I would have to like our chances. It seems he is much more desired than his teammate Robinson and James Stone. However, Cullen and Chaz Green are still left and w/ Jjames in the fold that could make 6 OLs in this class. Taking a 7th means saying no to another position player who may be needed to (think D Wright or C Nelson, for ex).

The staff may use the AA games to decide who fill our last spots with. Since the competition will be elite you can get a really good idea of who's a "must take" w/ the remaining spots and we will be turning down several possibilities when deciding who to take for these remaining spots. The AA games could help tremendously in knowing who's a take and who's not.

FYI: JJames and Chaz Green vs Corey Miller and Corey Lemonier in the week or two of the UnderArmour AA practice.

How much of a press are we putting on him. Do you think he's higher priority or is Stone. Seems like this staff really won's James, Green and Cullen - then possibly one more.

I think we are pushing for him now, but we have alot of ground to make up. He is committed to Auburn and Bama has been on him for a while. Yes, I'd say he is higher on the board than Stone. If they pull Green and Cullen, I think we are done on the OL with those 6...

Yeah...I have to wonder if the staff doesn't have him in a holding pattern, asking him to hold off on a public commitment, pending some HS prospects they don't want to scare off and who are a higher priority than a JC prospect.

I find it interesting that Green is compared to D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Is it possible he turns out to be as great of a college player? I believe that would just about be his ceiling as a player if that were to happen.

I still think Cullen ends up elsewhere. Just a gut feeling more tha anything though.

I do like where Tennessee is now with Green. I never gave them much of a chance with him but right now I think it would be an upset if he's not a Vol.

That wouldn't surprise me. Cullen not being an EE likely affects his chances with Tennessee. If Chaz Green comes here it will be him and James fighting for the other tackle position opposite Aaron Douglas.

Does getting James hurt us with Green? We already have douglas at one of the tackles next year so they would be fighting each other for the same spot and they both want early PT?
