Yep...Lane got in hard with this one. The rumors out of Tampa are not good. The parents are really pushing Tennessee with the help of Coach O. It wouldn't completely shock me if he committed to UT this weekend.

if that is indeed the case then he would have committed by now. Seem like he was really high on them back in the summer and once again his recruitment is being dragged out by us the tennessee vols baby!! bad thing for you gator fans that his recruitment has went on as long as it has. Playing time baby gotta love it

He is probably in that group of Hicks, Powell, Luc, and Dunkley who have silently committed to the Gators 4 or 5 times...

Whoever told you that Hicks and Luc are in that group are steering you wrong. UF leads for Luc, is in the thick of it for Hicks and is all over the other three.

The only way we lose Chaz is if Seantrel starts apartment hunting in Gainesville.

Hicks and Luc were 2 of the 6 who supposedly silently committed after the UT game. Let's not even talk about the 5stars who silently committed after FNL...

Not many Florida fans ever believed we have 6 silent commitments right now. I don't think Hicks is a silent at all but I do think that Luc told the staff w hat they wanted to hear. Mike Farrell, who usually has pretty darn good sources, said that Luc is a heavy lean to UF.

I think it's quite the testament to the Gator coaching staff's abilities if they land Luc and Hicks. That linebacking corps will be scary good for years to come.

To be honest, I haven't been keeping up with Hicks' recruitment -- although I am a little surprised to see the Gators make this kind of push (even though I shouldn't be). I guess I had him figured for Big Ten country.

I would dare to say that if UF keeps Elam, signs Luc, Hicks and Green -- along with their current commitments -- it could be one of the finest recruiting classes ever assembled.

Hicks will be a UF/OSU/Texas battle. I believe That Hicks will probably end up at UF, but if OSU ends up winning the big ten; he could easily stay home.

I dont see how UT can pull Green; I believe the UT would have to beat UGA and finish strong. Green wants to see stability, and UF certainly has that.

Luc will be a gator IMO as well. I do not believe he was that impressed in Kville last Saturday. With the bigtime probs down in FSU, who else is going to make a run?

Powell is also a gator, USC will contend, and the longer his recruitment goes, the better for USC IMO.

Im not so sure Elam is done, he has been seriously looking at everyone, just 2 weeks ago he was saying WV my leader; the all this UT stuff, and UF givin a scholly to Riley, I dont see it over yet.

Dunkley; who knows, probably a gator, they need him to go with Debose for next year.

I just want 1 of Hicks/Luc and anything else is just gravy. We recruited 2 elite LB's last year in Bostic and Jenkins so if we can get Luc and/or Hicks to combine with those 2 then WOW.

-I agree about Luc. It is down to a process of elimination. It sounds like his family just doesn't want him at Miami, FSU is having some major problems right now, and the other schools (USC/Georgia/Tennessee) are further away from home. His best relationship among all the coaches is Charlie Strong, Florida has 2 Senior Linebackers so a starting spot will be available for 2010, and we are close to home. Even if you ignore all the rumors about Luc and UF it makes sense that Florida would be the choice.

-I don't know about Hicks. I think we have an edge but that could change in a week. We will see how that plays out.

-I think Powell really, REALLY likes Florida but I am worried about USC. They are always tough to beat for an in-state prospect...especially one from Southern California. It would be a mild upset if the Trojans got him though.

-Unless Elam is completely screwing Meyer over, it is done. He and Urban talked for a few hours recently and he was reminded that 1 year ago today (literally) was when he committed to UF. They talked about their past relationship and the depth chart. Plus the rumor is that Urban Meyer showed Elam a recruiting article where Tennessee offered the Eric Berry spot to Riley...which pissed Matt off.

-I think Dunkley is darn near a lock as well. I would be stunned if he went anywhere else...but then again I was stunned when Nuke went to Knoxville last year so who knows?

Luc was supposedly in that group, and rivals seems to have heard teh rumor as well.

Yea and those spots are pretty much already taken by
Bostic and Jenkins.

Early PT and 2 UT grads for parents...Would not surprise me if he ended up at UT.
