And all this time I thought it was a UF-UT battle...
I always thought that too. About 3 months ago, I heard that Benedict wasn't 100% sold on UGA and we were keeping in contact. Since then, I haven't heard anything at all. He seems solid to UGA at this point. Who knows though...
I agree. I know that they are going to make a run at Ogletree for sure...
Vader, I would ask this on Ogletree's thread but didn't look it up. Is he as good as rated? Reason I ask (and I know this upsets ppl, and it's not the best indicator) is that his 40 time is listed as 4.6 if I remember correctly. How could he be a safety w/ that kinda speed??? We know why Elam is so highly rated, as well as Riley, but what makes this kid worthy of his lofty status?
Regarding Benedict, I know we're still recruiting him but does anyone know if he is giving us his ear?...
Ogletree is a stud imo. I think 40 times are way overrated...
I have no idea about Benedict...
Normally I'd agree (like w/ WRs) but not when it comes to the secondary. If his 40 is anywhere close to 4.6 then he's not who we need, imo. Then again, who knows how accurate that 40 time is. Also, I would say his film is more important (which I haven't seen and obviously the staff has), esp since his competition is GA high school football. I'll defer to Kiffin & co but I'm leary.
I don't think people realize how ridiculous it is to want a guy who runs a 4.4 but not a 4.6. Seriously? Do you really think that .2 of second means that he is too slow to play?
Good awareness and high football IQ can help you make decisions more quickly. There is a reason that so many "burners" turn out to be busts because they have horrible football intelligence. Kenny O'Neal could have been a pro WR if he was .2 of a second slower and was a lot smarter on the field. BTW, Taylor Mays runs around a 4.55 and the last time I checked he was pretty darn good.
