Maybe two groups because my wife is Asian-American and I know how much of a struggle it was for her to go against family to marry me. Kids do it but I believe it's not as simple and done as many of your fellow Vols think. JMO I think his family is pushing him to look around in-state(again). Kid is using a OV to a in-state school that he's visited many times so take visit for what it's worth but this one isn't over.

Are you Haitian? If not then you're stupid for speaking on values and beliefs you know nothing about. Nothing I'm saying about Haitian family values is ever stupid. Not saying that the kid can't end up being a Vol...all I'm saying is what I know for a fact which is he's a haitian kid and his family not Monte "trust" will make this happen or not happen. Problem with americans they try to speak for ALL countries and cultures.

I don't know if I agree. This happened at the wrong time imo. If it happened in April then it might now affect it. I think the only shot we have at Luc now is if Strong leaves, but I hope I am wrong and have to eat my words.

No my wife is Asian-american. I'm making a statement about family values and it amazes me that people don't put much belief in how other cultures value mothers and fathers input.

It is true that most people, regardless or nationality, don't attempt to understand other cultures. Pretty harsh to place all "americans" in the category of ignorance and apathy.

Regardless, I hope that this situation doesn't affect Luc and others that have to "convince" their parents that UT is the right school for them.
