Don't oversell the in state thing. It just isn't a big deal in this modern era of cars, planes, Interwebs and postal service.

I agree, I think the fact that so many of his high school teammates have committed recently is reason for concern with this kid though.

I wonder what these kids who have NFL aspirations are going to do 3 and 4 years from now when they get drafted. Will they be afraid to leave the state of Florida then to go to Seattle or Oakland or San Diego or whomever drafts them?

Aha! How dare you use in logic in recruiting 17 & 18 year-olds? :)

I think going away for college is a positive in regards to their potential future careers in the NFL at least in the beginning. I think from a maturity standpoint and an adaptability standpoint they will typically be more preapred compared to someone who stays close to home for college and lives in their mamma's back-yard.

I have always wondered the same thing. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I'm sure Kiffin and Co. use that argument quite often.

Hopefully not another Marlon B. Where family sway them one way and kill there future. not saying MB is done just saying 1 year is wasted.:mega_shok:

but 14 month early commitments and $0.75 plus tax will get you a really bad cup of coffee.

true. speaking of coffee I found a couple of containers in our break room cabinet, best if used by date was only 2005.

I agree with you that the instate thing should not be a big deal, but with him it seems to be a bigger deal than it would be with most others players.

All of this instate talk is being WAYYYY overstated. Treasure Coast is a good 6 or 7 hours from Tallahassee. He might as well be out of state with that kind of drive needed. Also, if his family's values are going to play a huge role then why would he go to FSU? Is everyone forgetting about the Criminoles reputation and the recent scandals? Tally is far from a "wholesome" area.

The only instate school that worries me is UF because they are only about 3 1/2 hours from the Treasure Coast area. With it looking like Strong is out at UF they are less of a factor, IMO. There is no way that FSU is going to be able to bring in a DC that can compare to the legend that Monte is.

With Luc's uncle being in Knoxville, he will be closer to family than at FSU and will have a good relationship with a stable coaching staff. All this talk about FSU is wishful thinking on their part.

I don't think the Palm Beach Post is very credible but there has been a whole lot of Luc to FSU chatter in the past 48 hours. And where there's smoke.........

The comment isnt accurate, Luc hasnt commited anywhere yet. He is visitng FSU this weekend and from what i've heard FSU will name there new DC on Tuesday. Like a lot of ya'll have stated on here its lookin more and more like he'll be a seminole.....unless your coaching staff can pull of a miracle.
