+1... I may be wrong but I BLEED ORANGE! I know the writing on the wall, seem logically connected to SC. I just refuse to give up, until its over, & it comes only from JS own mouth. He seems like a great kid, & has some swagger about him for sure. That's the kind of confident leader we need at UT. I think our staff has done everything possible to land JS. CLK said no one will out work this staff, you better get up early, & stay up late. I just don't think its a no brainer like most think for SC. I know UT made him feel more wanted than SC or FL. If he's a vol come wed, Its going to be a bright future for UT, & it will speak hugely of the staffs recruiting capabilities. CLK is not bunting, he's. swinging for the FENCE early! If we land JS, imo, we will be competing for a NC in 3 to 4 years.

Not to be nitpicky, but that was CEO not CLK... ok, yeah, it was nitpicky.

I noticed that Kiff is Sceduled to speak on Friday not Thursday.. It would be nice to see the press ask him a bunch of questions about his new QB recruit.. I do wonder if JS realizes how much national exposure he will get if he does commit here.. I honestly think all of the sports outlets will talk about him all season everytime B. Brown runs a play they will comment about his new QB commit....

So not to be totally annoying but it seems to me this is not going to be on ESPN if it is at Thurs. at 3. Maybe recorded and replayed but not live. Anyone else think this? No one knows who Scroggins is except UT fans and dedicated UF and USC fans. And only the really dedicated ones.

Kiffin can't really talk about him if he does commit.

Even more indication that it's going to be USC. But your contention that no one knows who Scroggins is is inaccurate. Most everyone who follows recruiting knows who he is. He's discussed on the mainboard on Rivals quite a bit.

Can't talk about him at all in any kind of specifics whatsoever. Even without mentioning names. That rule is stretched sometimes though, but it is plain as day that he is not supposed to even acknowledge publicly that we have a commit from a QB.

Those folk are not everyone and not a large part of the population follows enough to interrupt regular programming to watch him commit is what I meant. If CFB live was already on it would be relevant. IMO

You're right about that. It may be covered on one of ESPN's other channels though with U being the most likely. I'm curious to know why he's pushing it back a day, but not in the vein that I think it has anything at all to do with his destination.

Well I will be in Knoxville when it goes down so I will feel the excitement or depression for sure. One thing about being in ATL is you do not have to live the let downs as hard as you do in Ktown. When I worked at a firm there and UT lost everyone was depressed and grouchy at work all week.

Is 4 the sum of the QB depth chart between Palmer and Cassel? I don't think so. They've had several pine riders who didn't make it to the NFL.

And as far as odds go, if anyone has a list of QB's who signed with USC, rode the planks, and never got drafted it would prove that being on USC's bench does not lead one to the NFL.

My guess is USC has already proven that Cassel is 1 in 100 for going from the SC bench to the NFL.

I agree that the annoucement by a kid going who's choosing to sit on the USC bench for the next 3 or 4 years is not important enough to be on ESPN live. It's not like he's the QB who will be bringing a traditonal powerhouse back to fame. Just another SC QB... ho hum...
