and don't forget Cassel was a backup. not too shabby for 2nd string.

The tea leaves are hard to ignore.....BUT why is he pushing the announcement back yet another day if he knows what he's doing?

With more confidence, a tighter knit team, a simpler offense that compliments the players, an aggressive coach, SOME experience (even though it was getting our butts whipped) on both the DL & OL, incredible young talent, improved DE's, many chips on shoulders, raw talent that is being coached by not one NFL former coach that has learned many things the hard way and that has coached at USC during its years of rebuilding AND success, but 2 former NFL coaches that have had success in the NFL (one of which that recruited the current OLE MISS team) and another that has coached at the NFL level as well as a Heisman candidate for a revived Purdue team (who has gone down hill since he left), a strength coach that has been a part of a winning system AND ERIC BERRY to the nth degree, we are going to be a completely different team. We will be faster, stronger, smarter and in better shape. I'm sure you could add to this list. But I think that's enough for people to not write us off. I have to say, anybody that writes us off deserves an upset and I believe, most likely will have a lot more on their hands than expected and a lot more respect for what this coaching staff has, is and will be doing after playing us this year. GO VOLS!!! LET'S RIP THEM TO PIECES!!!

If cassel had went somewhere else he would have been a 1st or 2nd round pick and been millions ahead of where he is now and had guarenteed $$

See the problem is we're fighting over him with a school that can just say "see, even if you ride the bench four years at our school, you can still end up as a paid starting quarterback in the nfl"

95% of the credit for Matt Cassel should be given to Josh McDaniels...that is the guy that took him under his wing and groomed him into what he was last year. Studying under Brady helped as well. USC was only good for the recommendation from Carrol to his buddy.

I am still not a believer in Cassel...not too many guys would fail in that Pats O

+1... I may be wrong but I BLEED ORANGE! I know the writing on the wall, seem logically connected to SC. I just refuse to give up, until its over, & it comes only from JS own mouth. He seems like a great kid, & has some swagger about him for sure. That's the kind of confident leader we need at UT. I think our staff has done everything possible to land JS. CLK said no one will out work this staff, you better get up early, & stay up late. I just don't think its a no brainer like most think for SC. I know UT made him feel more wanted than SC or FL. If he's a vol come wed, Its going to be a bright future for UT, & it will speak hugely of the staffs recruiting capabilities. CLK is not bunting, he's. swinging for the FENCE early! If we land JS, imo, we will be competing for a NC in 3 to 4 years.
