yeah the julio coment about having the press conference in cali is the absolute last reason he might decide USC. There is a good chance he does but that was stupid

I had a good feeling about BB before he committed to us, but I have to say I have a gut feeling that JS is going to USC. I hope I am wrong and I definitely think that would be a bad decision for him. If he went to USC I think its a possibility he would only play 1 year or so.

All signs are pointing to USC. Father asked him if he wanted to take another visit to TN or FL, and he said no.

He can be apart of one of the largest rebuilding teams of all time. He could become a legend at Tennessee.....

I hope he picks Tennessee.

I don't buy the Kiffin has talked him into doiing it on ESPN for exposure.. I would like to, but I remember the QB from Miami (sorry I can't remember his name) and he commit on ESPN to someone else... I thought Kiffin had put him up to it for National exposure that time, but he proved me wrong..

If anyone looks & notices the 1st page on this thread, it looked like we was one of the first major programs to offer JS. That's got to mean something to him & his family. We have been loyal to this kid, & have missed on some decent QB's. Now he needs to be loyal to us in return.

"I made my decision last week," Scroggins offered. "I know there was a lot of talk about me announcing something at the seven-on-seven tournament in Oregon, but I want my dad to be at my announcement so that is why I am announcing it this week."

"I have told my high school coach where I am going, but that is it," Scroggins said.

Per Rivals...

It doesn't always work like that.

What if Western Kentucky was the first to offer him? Would you think he would go there?

IMHO... He is only making a public announcement on ESPN because this kid thinks he's the shiznit and his head is growing by the day. The kid is 17 or 18 and he is loving the heck out of some back-n-forth from USC, UT, & UF. I mean the kid is a 4* QB for goodness sake... What 4* star recruit makes a huge deal out of his announcement 7+ months from Nat'l Signing Day on ESPN?

The kid thinks he's the crap but instead he's going to be sorely mistaken about choosing USC when he winds up being the one who is cupping his own hands to catch Barkley's crap on the sidelines.

I don't think that is how it happened. From what I understood he wanted to take another visit but his family didn't have the funding to do so. By the time his parents said they'd take him down there, he didn't have time to come. He has wanted to commit on national television all along. With the being said, there is only one time he can do that and he had camps up until that point. I believe he wanted to come out here again but just didn't have time.

Sometimes it does happen, a la Chase Rettig (see below). That said, I doubt Scroggins cares about who offered first at this point. He probably felt slighted by USC at first because they came to the party late, but he's clearly moved beyond that. I think he's a trojan.

“I committed to Boston College,” said 6-foot-4, 205-pound quarterback Chase Rettig from San Clemente, Calif., who chose the Eagles over an offer from Tennessee. “I felt I didn’t need to wait any longer because I felt comfortable with my choice. BC was the first team to offer me and that showed their commitment to me. I felt comfortable when I was there at camp and had a lot of fun and felt good with the coaches. There’s also a chance to play right away and BC produces NFL quarterbacks. It was nothing that BC or Tennessee did right or wrong, it was more about a feeling I had.”

Everybody needs to chill. Jesse is going to commit to the Vols and help our recruiting for big time receivers. He is coming to Tennessee because we want him, but most of all we desperately need him. Wednesday will be a big day for all UT fans.

I think plays a big role in his decision

He is committing at home with ESPN bringing some camera to his house, not at the camp, if I understand correctly. So, I don't think that he *had* to commit when he is in order to have his commitment aired on TV. He ran out of time to come if he wanted to stick to his original July 25th time line...but he is commiting on the 22nd now not the 25th. He could have committed after the 25th with the cameras there just as well as before, unless I'm missing something.

.....At least we're not bitter about the decision he hasn't made yet. :whistling:
