I think he's a vol. If his favorite team is SC and his dad is a SC fan it would of been a no brainer. He'd committ that week he got the invite. He has to be a Vol if he is making this big of a production. If it is SC, it would've been done and over with that week. This prolonged wait is to build national interest surely. Everything is planned says Kiffin. After watching that 7 on 7 video. GOD I hope he is. He looks pretty good.

I don't think USC or Florida would be too concerned about him having some sort of ESPN announcement. It isn't like he's Bryce Brown or Matt Barkley. He's a top recruit, but I think the only reason this is an ESPN thing is because he's going to commit to Tennessee and Kiffin wants to make it known that he just beat out USC and Florida for this kid. Continue the exposure and show the rest of the guys how much coverage they can expect.

Hopefully that's the case.

Yeah he really is not a big recruit for USC or UF. He is someone there fans will get to know in 3-4 years from now. He may be huge for them then but he is not someone there fans are all over right now. If he announces on ESPN and not for us then kid just has a big head. People will be like who was that? And then forget quickly enough.

Listening to Jimmy Hyams on the Doug Matthews Show this morning. Hyams said he interviewed LK last week and LK said there is a good chance that no H.S. QB will be signed this recruiting year. That leaves only JUCO transfer Lamison as a prospecrt for the coming season who's only other offer was from North Dakota St.

I'm not even sure if you would count Lamaison since he, as you note, is for the coming season. They may be looking at some other JUCOs for '10. Personally, I think they sign at least 1 HS QB by the time it is said and done.

The kid is deciding between UT, USC, and UF. It's not like he is chump change. ESPN would cover his announcement if he wants it covered, regardless of where he is announcing. He has said all along that he wanted to make a big announcement to help recruiting....while that sounds like something UT needs, it would be a reasonable statement for any school (though the others don't seem to need the help!). I think this is just another case of reading too much into something...

I am sorry but can some one explain to me how Lamison was able to get a scholarship offer from UT or is he walking on?

I live in So Cal and I have never heard of the kid

I could be wrong but im pretty sure its a scholly for the 2009 class and could play this year

UT needs depth now that BJ Coleman transfered. This kid will be in the 2009 signing class, which never used all its scholarships. Thus, we had a scholarship to burn, a need, and a player that wanted to fill that need.

Yeah, I'd expect him to fly out to Tennessee to hold his press conference. That makes lots of sense. I guess he's holding it on a national network so that all the California folk will be able to see it.
